I'm nearly 22 and don't even have a leaner permit. I can drive but in Australia you have to fill a logbook with 100 hours of driving before you can sit the test.

What are the requirements in Cali? I didn't even have to take a test in Texas. I did the drivers ed in a box so my dad taught me and all we had to do was show them paperwork and they gave me my license. No test involved. As great as the drivers ed in a box is, I still think they should make you test with one of their people, otherwise you and your parents can just lie about doing it. I didn't log as many hours as required but we just said I did since I was driving fine. Had I been driving like an idiot then my dad would've made me log more. Makes you wonder though how many parents just sign the paperwork without ever letting their kids drive.

Also...For me that's doing to much! In Cali if you wait til your 18 you just take the permit and then the behind the wheel test :D wayyyyyy easier than doing all that other stuff so, most ppl in my community just wait because we don't have that kind of money to dish out and it's well worth it! I hope that answered your curiosity about driving regulations in Cali :D

54- yes. I know plenty of people in different states that have failed multiple times and received it on the 4th or 5th time failing.

61--This totally explains why every car I see overturned in a ditch in the mountains has Texas plates! Not that Colorado is that much better. We do have to take a test, but all it really checks is whether you can stop behind the white line at a stop sign and obey the speed limit. Since it doesn't check your parking skills, you could theoretically pass your test and keep driving until the car runs out of gas because you never learned how to park it.

Yup. Texas has some hills but nothing like the mountains. I've only driven up there a few times (I live in CO now) and I'm amazed at how fast people go! I usually let my husband drive since he's a native and we STILL get people tailgating! It's ridiculous!

I thought it was funny. A California roll does sound like it might be some sort of weird sushi. It's basically not coming to a full stop at a stop sign. Just slowing down and coasting through it as though you were in a traffic circle.

It is also called a California "Roll", when you don't make a complete stop at a red light or stop sign. And..... It's also the name of a sushi roll that has crab, avocado and cucumbers. Where I'm from, when you drive like that, it's called a Puerto Rican stop instead.

68 and 69 it's called a California roll because you roll through the stop sign. Idk about California stop never heard that before and I'm born and raised in southern Cali. You HAVE to consent to a breathalyzer in Florida or else your license gets suspended for a month
