Today, I got a birthday present from my boyfriend's mom. It was ProActiv acne solution. He tried to make me feel better by explaining it's because she wants to be able to include me in family pictures. FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Today, my boyfriend gave me acne cream for my birthday. FML
Today, it was my birthday. My boyfriend was kind enough to give me prescription strength deodorant. FML
Today, my boyfriend decided to gift me soap, a razor, and deodorant for my birthday. FML
Today, my mom went to the store. She said she was feeling generous, and had gotten everyone a little treat. My brothers each got candy and a movie. I got acne medication. FML
Today, I woke up next to my boyfriend. He gazed at me, stroked my cheek, and said, "Christ, you really need something for this acne." FML
Today, it's my birthday. I told my boyfriend I wanted to feel special even if for just one day. He said he would do the laundry for me. FML
Today, I got my hair done, eyebrows waxed, and a new expensive dress to impress my boyfriend. When I got home I asked him if he noticed anything different about me. He looked at me for one minute before asking, "Did you finally start using Proactive?" FML
Today, it was my birthday. My boyfriend had been telling me for the past two weeks that he had something planned for the occasion. His plan? Me watching TV with his parents, who hate me, while he went to work. His gift? A brand new Xbox 360 for himself. FML
Today, my parents spent more time, money, and effort on my boyfriend's birthday present than they ever have on any of mine. FML
Thanks, I guess…
Today, it's my birthday. I don't mind crappy gifts, but I have to wonder why the hell my boyfriend bought me a home enema kit. FML

Why are there so many people saying she deserves it? Some people wash their faces every day and still get acne because of bad genes or other factors.

Wow! could you take it anymore personal? My acne isn't even that bad and i'd still be stoked to get proactive! lol. She was just trying to be nice I'm sure and that stuff does wonders! just look at the bright side of it!! :)

Your poor boyfriend. He sounds like one of those guys who're dopey about helping in such situations. It's endearing from the outside, not so much on the inside. Don't be too harsh on him, he tried. His mother on the other hand sounds like she needs a good slap.

that shit doesn't work it's bleaches your skin and your towels and makes your face burn/peel like hell. if you wanna see an actual difference maybe go to the dermatologist and get roaccutane

That was rude of her :( Getting rid of acne isn't as easy as, "oh hey, i'll go wash my face." I take very good care of my skin, but acne runs in my family. Trying ProActiv made me break out even more, so I started seeing a dermatologist. The first medication I was put on turned my acne from mild to severe. After trial and error my skin has improved, but it's still nowhere close to perfect. So please don't assume that people with acne don't take care of themselves. Everyone's skin is different, so what works for one person won't work for everyone.

Ughh, the uncouth BF's mom and dreaded acne! Suck it up mom, it can be an ongoing battle. OP, sometimes they both can be out of your control.

I'm appaled by how many sympathetic retards this FML brings. Even going so far as to call us filthy, and wishing death upon us! I think the OP is lucky. He/she just got a FREE ticket to acne removal. And you ignorant fools are saying **** his/her life? If anything their life just got better. OP: get over yourself and use the damn cream. If I haven't made it abundantly clear by now, YDI FOR NOT USING IT!

Oh, holy crap, someone has the natural and common occurrence known as acne, big whoop. It's not that big of a deal. FYL, some people can't understand that acne is something people have and something some people just can't get rid of.
