Today, I found out why my five-year-old has been throwing tantrums while shopping. It turns out my ex-husband has been paying her three dollars for every public tantrum she throws. FML

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
Today, my 6-year-old daughter threw a tantrum in the middle of a store, all because I wouldn't buy her a pushup bra. FML
Not so sweet brat summer
Today, my brat daughter got pissed that I didn't spend "enough" money on her Sweet Sixteen party. She threw a tantrum and told my husband about my affair. FML
Today, while shopping, my six-year-old son threw a tantrum because I wouldn't buy him a video game. I ended up having to grab his arm and leave the store. He screamed that I was kidnapping him, at which point I was socked in the face and pinned to the floor by three bystanders. FML
Call CPS, quick
Today, I saw a kid throwing a tantrum in a supermarket. Thinking it was a matter of lack of discipline, I waited for the kid’s mother to come out of the bathroom to tell her how naughty her son was being. I then got to watch her beat her son to the point of unconsciousness. FML
Maxed out
Today, my daughter took her ex to court for child support. After the judge was done, she ended up having to pay support to him, and since she was the one who took him to court just for money, her ex now hates her and will make sure to collect every penny he’s owed, even though she only works part time. FML
The Omen 4
Today, my year and a half old daughter has discovered the joy of temper tantrums. She is now throwing them constantly. Everywhere. Anytime. FML
Bad dad
Today, I learned that when my husband takes our son shopping and he acts up, my husband picks him up under his arm and carries him around, instead of talking to him and trying to calm or reason with him. I'm FURIOUS. FML
Today, my husband had a temper tantrum because I wouldn't get him a chocolate bar at the store register. FML
She's crafty
Today, my husband and I were fighting over money. As we were arguing, our 13 year-old daughter stole $250 dollars from my purse. FML
Stranger danger
Today, my 6 year-old daughter got mad at me for not buying her yet another expensive doll. I had to pull her away, and she started screaming for help. The next thing I know, another shopper puts me in a chokehold and calls for security, all while my daughter smirks. FML

Money talks, even if you're only five. Just offer her another dollar for every time she takes money from your ex without actually throwing the tantrums. She'll make bank, and he'll keep paying...for nothing. Not exactly honest, but honesty is only the best policy when it doesn't stand in the way of sweet revenge.

Give her five dollars to tell Child Services he hits her. You get even, and she learns a valuable lesson about money getting you anywhere :p

Hmm I had a comment here explaining a little more, but now it's gone. My daughter, up until about a month ago has never had a temper tantrum at home, let alone in public. The only reason I even found out about this bribe is because I found a sock under her bed with 15$ in it. I threatened to give it to the little boy next door if she didn't tell me where it came from. She doesn't like the little boy next door and she really doesn't like parting with her money.

y'all are a bunch of dip *****. it's just a harmless prank. you must not have kids of your own. cuz if ya did you'd know that CPS is not something you use just to get back at them. could ruin their life.

No, you must not have kids. "Cuz if ya did," you'd know that you don't use your child as a pawn to get back at an ex. 1-it's not teaching her good behavior. And bad behavior starts early and can be a hard habit to break at, say, 16. 2-it's immature to put a kid in the middle and make them grow up feeling like they have to choose sides and are nothing but a weapon for their parents' use. CPS has every right to look into a parent who is treating their kid like a tool instead of a human.

Except it's not a harmless prank. He's manipulating our daughter to get back at me. Not a very mature thing to do. And like intoxicunt said, it's not teaching her very good behaviour. She's actually a really good, well behaved kid but it just seems as though her father is trying to undo all of it. I would never use my daughter like that.

Wow #50, I really hope you don't have kids.

I really don't believe that CPS would pay any attention to this beyond telling OP to the lawyer she used in the custody negotiations.
