Today, I found out the little blue thing that my roommate has been sterilizing by boiling in our shared coffee maker, is a menstrual cup. FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Morning pick-me-up
Today, upon waking up, I took a sip on what I thought was a cup of water on my nightstand. I quickly discovered it was my roommate's cup of used mouthwash which she was too lazy to throw out the night before. FML
Added flavor
Today, I walked out the bathroom and saw my girlfriend peeing in a mug. She said that's the mug she uses when she can't hold it anymore. That's the mug I put my coffee in every morning. FML
Today, I found out that my flatmate wears my underwear. FML
Corkscrew
Today, I used a menstrual cup for the first time. I couldn't get it out, after what seemed like ages of trying. I had to ask my boyfriend to help me. He'll never look at me the same way again. FML
Today, on my second morning at college, I tried to make coffee using my Keurig. I realized after I got back from my shower that I hadn't put a cup under the machine. All 3 drawers of my dresser are now filled with coffee. FML
Today, I found out my roommate thinks the sink is an appropriate place to wash his junk. FML
Gross
Today, I decided to look for the horrid stench coming from my bathroom. It turns out my roommate has been throwing away her used tampons in the "trashcan by the sink." That "trashcan" is my old antique vase. FML
Today, my roommate got mad at me for putting away the tampons that were sitting on her desk. She rebelled by hanging hundreds of tampons dyed red from every surface in our dorm room. I discovered this while giving my mom her first tour of the place. FML
Today, after having recently moved into shared accommodations, my prankster of a room-mate has somehow made sure I've yet again woken up with a tampon in my mouth. It's been three times in the past week. FML
Today, I witnessed my roommate pop a blister with a skewer and casually place it back in the kitchen drawer, before wiping what seeped out with the teatowel. FML

When I used a menstrual cup, I bought a pot for the sole purpose of sterilizing it. Menstrual blood is not dirty but then again, it's really intimate and it's really understandable that other people might not want to drink from the coffee pot after that

Yeah, it is good of her to at least sterilize it, but her implementation definitely needs work. Sterile or not, I wouldn't use it again. You should let her have the shared coffee maker, and get your own after this. Or get a new roomie.

Well, I mean, they're sterilising it. So by definition they're also sterilising the coffee maker at the same time. It's not a big deal.

Boiling something won't get rid of proteins, so OP has been drinking particals of cooked menstrual blood in their coffee.

Well, there's no telling what the roomie has floating around in her bloodstream. I wouldn't want anybody's bodily secretions in my dishes. That's just gross. That mess is how people end up with hepatitis. If she's putting her moon cup in the coffee maker, there's no telling what else she's up to.

Same here, I have this pot I only use to sterilize my menstrual cup. My roommate still somehow managed to go into my cupboard, take the pot without asking me, and use it to cook pasta. I'm not sure if I should tell them.

I'd have no issues telling my roomie in that situation #16. They need to learn not go through your stuff. And this is the perfect way to do it. You're also being honest with them, so yeah.

Even if it wasn't menstrual blood and it came from a leg or arm, I still would want to be drinking out of it.... it's blood

#16 honestly you should tell them. They will probably freak out at fist but it's their fault. Even if they try your roommate can't get mad at you since they took it without permission. Telling them will deffinatly teach them not to use your things without asking. Heck after you tell them they probably won't even go in your room anymore lol

You need to explain to your roommate that that is a biohazard but at the very least rude.
