I'd like everyone to read op's username. They're 18. I am not one to look down on age differences but 18 you are still learning about relationships and growing. I could kinda understand the 28, but 48? Not to mention this person lied to be with this 18 year old.. I'd say run like hell op.

Confession time. I met my online gf and told her I was 18 (idk why tbh) and im actually 19. Its been a year and we've met a few times but I still haven't told her. From comments this doesn't seem like a big deal but it tears me up inside

Hey, as long as you're both legal, who cares? My best friend is two years younger than me (I'm 25) and married a guy who already had two teenage kids, and they've got two beautiful babies of their own now. Love knows no age.

For me, 18 is still a bit young to date someone so much older. You just became an adult, you have to adjust to responsibilities, expectations, and changed. Including in relationships. Then you have an older adult who has been through plenty of dating and could possibly manipulate someone still learning easier. And the fact they lied about their age to them kinda seems ominous, don't you think?

Both her being 18 and the lies are massive warnings, I know people mature at different rates but at 18 I was still figuring out how much shit I should let my boyfriends get away with. A 28 or 48 year old shouldn't be taking advantage of that.

It's a possibility that they've lied about more things then. And a person that much older than you is extremely predatory. I'd say run, and don't go back.

Actually it does matter because the other person lied. And it's not like they just said they were a couple of years younger. It was a significant lie. Plus OP is only 18.
