Today, I found out that my employers hired me under the assumption that I was gay. Apparently, they are attempting to be perceived as more open-minded. I'm not gay, but I'm afraid being straight could cost me my job. FML
Today, I learned that the manager I switched jobs to escape 7 months ago will be my new boss. FML
Today, it's my first day as the boss, after waiting months for this promotion. Today is also the day my replacement, who I trained for three months, quit. Now I've got two jobs for the price of one. FML
Today, a month after getting a big promotion, I found out that I'm stuck with my old job. No one wants to take my old position, so they are vacating my new one and will post it, because, "This one is more desirable, and your's is shit." FML
Today, I found out that my assistant is now my manager. FML
Today, I discovered my former boss from the job I quit 3 months is now my boss at my new job. He was the reason I quit my old job. FML
Today, after resigning from my current job, I was let go from the new job I hadn't even started yet. FML
Today, after a month at my new job, my boss fired me because I didn't have enough experience. She hired me with full knowledge of this fact. FML
Today, I got a phone call from my boss, who'd hired me after two months of waiting and begging for this position. A week into the job, the company is closing our store. FML
Today, after being told two weeks ago that my contract would be renewed, my boss managed to tell me that actually he had other applicants for the job. I will be let go, but he offered me two months extra so I could finish the projects he had me working on. FML

Even if you had no issues with the new job, this was still stupid. What if someone calls your old boss some day as a reference? Thinking you need to go out with a bang when quitting your job is just immature; be professional and just hand in your two weeks notice and leave on a good note. And yeah, using gay as an insult is childish. What are you, in middle school?

Time to embark on your new (hopefully short term) career - "Welcome to McDonald's can I take your order?" Any job that has a delayed start date is in serious danger of being completely scrapped. NEVER quit your current position uintil you have a firm start date and 100% commitment from the new company. I guess you never listened to your father.

If OP was supposed to start in 2 days, it sounds like there was a firm start date. The new company just had to change it for some reason.
