Today, I found out my mom recently stopped taking her medication. I came home to find she'd shot my dog because she thought he was possessed by the devil. FML

Today, my mother informed me that she sold my dog to pay off some bills. FML
Today, my mom was in a really bad mood, so I stayed in my room to avoid her. It didn't take long before she barged in and started bitching about my dog, who'd pissed her off by acting too happy. Yes, she's actually that insane, and I have to deal with it on a daily basis. FML
Today, I found my mom throwing my very expensive and important medication down the toilet. She thought I was doing drugs. FML
Today, my mother locked me out of the house. Why? The dog and her needed some time to talk. FML
Today, I was awoken by a conversation my mom was having with my dog upstairs. She was telling my dog that a ghost lives in our house. She was completely serious. The ghost even has a name and a backstory. FML
Today, my dog nearly died when my mom fed him chocolate. After finding out dogs are not supposed to eat chocolate, she promptly grounded me for not telling her. FML
Today, while I took my dog out, my mother began to cook, took a Xanax, locked the doors, and passed out. When I managed to get in, I called the paramedics because she was in the smoke for at least an hour. When she became conscious, she blamed me for everything. FML
Today, my mother called me at work, freaking out about my dog, so I panicked. What was wrong? He had a hard-on and she'd never seen that happen before. FML
Today, I called my mother to check up on her. Lately, she's been having some financial problems, so last week I sent her my last $100 to help her out until her next paycheck. She used the money to euthanize the family dog. FML
Today, my girlfriend whom I'm crazy about broke up with me out of the blue. After pleading with her unsuccessfully, I called my mom for comfort and advice. She informed me that my dog had died. FML

Yeah, she should get help immediately. Next time it could be Op or a neighbor, or just anybody op's mom thinks is possessed. And maybe not leave weapons at the mom's disposal.

I agree with 15. She needs to be committed. I mean honestly, if she's to the point that she's delusional enough to shoot a dog, who's to say she wouldn't do it to a person. For her own safety, it would be best to put her in a place where there could be 24/7 supervision.

Firstly, you should lock up your weapons including knives. Then get her immediate medical attention. Hire a cleaning company as well so you won't have to go through the anguish of cleaning it up... Sorry OP.
