Today, I found out my landlord has bought himself a new boat. He refuses to turn up the heating to save money. I'm freezing. FML

Today, I found out my landlord is too cheap to turn up the hot water tank enough to have a comfortable shower. There's a huge padlock on the door, she won't budge, and I'm signed in until December. FML
Today, and for the last two weeks, my asshole landlord refuses to fix the hot water supply. My shower is now so cold that peeing on myself while washing is actually helping. I need a new place. FML
Today, my boiler packed up on me just as the weather has turned cold, with no money to have it fixed. Hello to a week of freezing cold showers. FML
Today, I found out that shutting off the heat in the rental property my parents owned was a bad idea. The water froze and the pipes burst, causing the whole kitchen ceiling to fall down. The water ruined the wood floors and the appliances. I turned off the heat to save money. FML
Today, after repairing the toilet, the light, the shower, the cooker and the heater in the flat I've just moved into, my boiler dies. It's mid December, about 1 degree outside. FML
Today, my landlord refused to send a plumber over to unclog the sink. Now he wants me to pay for water damages because he didn't call a plumber sooner. FML
Today, I found out, through Facebook, that my landlord hadn't been paying the mortgage on the house I'm renting from him. It's going into foreclosure. FML
Today, my landlord emailed me, stating that she hasn't been receiving my rent. After some investigation, I found out she's been using the money to buy booze, and hasn't been putting it into the house owner's account. FML
Today, my upstairs neighbor's pipe burst because they forgot to close their porch door and, well, Wisconsin winter. My apartment is flooded and I'm spending my little money on a hotel. I think I'm homeless. FML
Today, my landlord told me he is raising my rent next month. I thought he was kidding until he asked if I still wanted to live here. My landlord is also my live-in boyfriend. FML

Buy a few ceramic heaters. If your rent includes all utilities, you can use electric heat instead of the forced air or steam from the building's central system. And if everyone in the building does that, maybe he'll see that turning the building heat up a few degrees is cheaper in fuel cost than the electric bill involved in not doing so.

I am almost ALWAYS very cold. Im sorry you're uncomfortable. Invest in an electric heated blanket maybe. I just bought one. Now I can't wait for winter!

Been there. My landlord/boss bought a new truck. Wouldn't let me turn up the heat in the bar or hotel so I bought a bunch of space heaters. Thankfully the hotel part wasn't being used, just the suit I lived in.

Most states have a legal minimal indoor temperature. I had a landlord that would only turn on the heat enough to stay just above the minimum and not get in trouble. You should buy a thermometer for inside your house and keep record if it goes below your state's minimum. Then you can get him in trouble and force him to turn it up.
