Today, I found an obituary clipping on my kitchen table. It was for my grandpa. No one told me he died. FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Today, I texted a friend offering my condolences over the death of his grandfather. He hadn't been told his grandfather had died yet. FML
RIP in peace
Today, my grandmother died. No one called me to let me know she passed. I found out because people kept writing RIP on her Facebook wall. My siblings and I weren't even mentioned in her obituary with the other grandchildren, but they did remember to mention her dog. FML
Today, after mourning and making my girlfriend cancel her big birthday party, I found out my grandma didn't actually die. FML
Today, I found out my grandfather died via Facebook, because apparently both my father and my aunt think posting a status about it immediately rather than calling family is the thing to do. FML
Today, I told my grandmother I was planning a trip to take my newborn son to meet his great-great-grandfather before it was too late. She had a guilty expression on her face. My great-grandfather died 4 months ago and my family forgot to tell me. FML
Every little helps
Today, I found out that my grandmother desecrated my grandfather's grave. 14 years after his death, she dug up his body and had him cremated so that she could sell his plot back to the cemetery for money. I was the one who found out so I had to tell the rest of the family. FML
Today, I found out I was getting a new bed for my room. Then find out it was my great-grandmother's. The one she died in. FML
Today, I walked into my house to find everyone sitting around the table and looking sad. I thought it would be a good time to crack a joke and said, "What's wrong? Grandma finally die?" Turns out she had. FML
Do not overreact
Today, I found out that my grandma passed away the morning of my wedding a couple of days ago and my (soon-to-be ex) husband and so-called family all conspired to keep it a secret from me so as not to upset me. FML
Foot in mouth
Today, my grandpa died. I called my grandma to make sure she was going to be fine. After talking over the phone for 30 minutes or so, I told her goodbye and said, out of habit, "Say hi to grandpa for me". FML

You have no idea how many times that has happened to me. Not just with death, but with like people in my family becoming pregnant, my aunt getting engaged, my uncle proposing to his girlfriend, and many other things. My mom doesn't tell me anything. And my dad's just oblivious hahaha.

Well, my family has a rule that we don't ruin an activity if something bad happens. You were at school or something? They probably didn't want to ruin your day and then accidentally left it there or something. Don't misjudge your parents. It could have been for your own good. And either way has anyone considered this was the way your parents told you? Maybe they were out but sill wanted you to know. I mean, it's a stupid way but it's still a way of communication. I's so sorry about your grandpa :(

remember that they may have simply been waiting for the right time to tell you. It's not an excuse, but it is a reason. Sometimes people just keep putting those things off and putting them off because they don't want to admit themselves that the person is gone, not telling you could have been a way to be in denial. However...you should make sure to tell them how it made you feel.

#7 is right--people can be soo retarded! Anyway, I'm so sorry. Feel better, sweetie. Oh yeah, and #37 is right, also--make sure you let them know that it kind of came as a shocker there.
