Today, I told my grandmother I was planning a trip to take my newborn son to meet his great-great-grandfather before it was too late. She had a guilty expression on her face. My great-grandfather died 4 months ago and my family forgot to tell me. FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Today, while at my aunt's funeral, my grandma who has terrible memory loss asked me whose funeral we were at. I had to explain to her that her daughter had died. FML
Today, I found an obituary clipping on my kitchen table. It was for my grandpa. No one told me he died. FML
Today, I texted a friend offering my condolences over the death of his grandfather. He hadn't been told his grandfather had died yet. FML
Every little helps
Today, I found out that my grandmother desecrated my grandfather's grave. 14 years after his death, she dug up his body and had him cremated so that she could sell his plot back to the cemetery for money. I was the one who found out so I had to tell the rest of the family. FML
Today, I visited my grandmother who has dementia. She thought I was my father, and told me that I should never have married my mother, let alone have had children with her. FML
Today, without telling me, my mom dropped me off at my grandmother's house, and drove off. Now I'm supposed to spend the next month with her. Guess she forgot my grandma died six weeks ago. FML
Nice try
Today, I told my boss that my grandma died to get a day off work, but then my grandma showed up at the office looking for me because she wanted to go shopping. FML
Not worth our time
Today, my grandparents told me they couldn't make it to my college graduation, even with months in advance to plan, because they had their annual Mother's Day plans with friends. Plans they've had every year, and are further away. This was the only time I'll ever have a graduation ceremony. My grandpa is my last biological grandparent. FML
RIP in peace
Today, my grandmother died. No one called me to let me know she passed. I found out because people kept writing RIP on her Facebook wall. My siblings and I weren't even mentioned in her obituary with the other grandchildren, but they did remember to mention her dog. FML
See you around, then
Today, at the end of my great grandmother's funeral, her daughter (my grandma) told me and my mother that she doesn’t have a reason to come back and visit anymore, and that everyone in her life is now gone. FML

oh boo hoo libritard, just don't look at the tweets. idk why you people have to make everything about how awful Trump is. for the love of God we put up with Obama for 8 friggin years. do you need your cry closet?

sounds like you're already occupying the cry closet

I see more complaints about President Trump than I ever saw about Obama. and these complaints are never relevant to the post they're on.

Are you perhaps feeling a little triggered, AngryKitten?
AngryKitten 24

y'all find every opportunity to insult Trump, like fr! on a person's post about a dead relative. keepin it classy as usual, left.

We don't make everything about how awful he is. He does that for himself, and then we laugh.

My family forgot to tell me about my great-grandpa’s death for a couple months, too.

This is rather sad. It took them four months to realize they forgot to tell you that he died?

Sorry OP

I’m sorry for your loss. On the plus side, small kids are traumatized by looking at very old people. Your kid dodged that bullet, yikes!

How did they "forget" to tell you? That just doesn't seem right.

Whaaat!!! That’s amazing!!! I mean you had your GREAT-GREAT-GRANDFATHER for a while!! Many people don’t even get the pleasure/pride/privilege to know their great-grandparents or even their grandparents!! Anyhow. Very sorry for your loss.

It was OP's great-grandfather and her child's great-great grandfather. I'm lucky that I had one of my great-grandparents (my maternal grandmother's mom) until I was 18.

That’s what I meant. Thanks

i mean... you were pregnant at the time of his death. your family probably didn't want to upset you or stress you out... i'm not saying this behavior is ok, but it's pretty common in such situations.

I'm incredibly sorry for your lost. I couldn't imagine if one of my loved ones died and noone told me.
