Today, after many, many years of desperate bodily insecurity and therapy, I woke up next to the man of my dreams, who told me the sex was wonderful. Apparently, gin plays wonders with my memory. I don't remember a thing. And that was my first time. FML
Today, my boyfriend finally proposed to me. He was drunk and won't remember any of this tomorrow. FML
Today, I realized I've never had sex with someone who was sober at the time. FML
Today, my rarely-romantic boyfriend finally said "I love you". Too bad he was drunk, and was talking to my vagina. FML
Today, I had had sex while sober for the first time in years. It was really awkward, bumpy, and I kept on apologizing for being so terrible. FML
Today, I was finally having sex with the man of my dreams, and then he fell asleep on top of me. FML
Today, I went out drinking with my friends and my boyfriend met me there. We then decided to come home, planning an intimate moment. Once home, I got on top of him and went to kiss his neck. Next thing I know, I'd fallen asleep right before we'd even started. FML
Today, I made up an ingenious plan to finally hook up with the guy I really like at a party. Well, the plan itself worked great. Too bad I got so drunk that I used it on the wrong person. FML
Today, I woke up from a night of crazy drunken sex with a guy I had met at a friends 23rd birthday party. The lights had been off when we had stumbled in to his house the night before. When I opened my eyes today, the first thing I saw was his family picture, complete with his wife and son. FML
Today, I finally decided to sleep with my boyfriend. It was my first time and I was really nervous so when he was being all romantic with candles and wine I went a bit overboard and drank too much. I passed out. I woke up a few hours later, still a virgin, and in a puddle of my own piss. FML

I want to stay positive, but my fear is that you were doomed from the start, OP. If he was only able to have sex with you while you were drunk, that speaks wonders about the both of you. Either way, I truly wish you the best of luck and hope that you are able to pursue a relationship with this guy.

I'm more concerned that the man who you have such a crush on thought it was okay to have sex with a clearly drunk person. Not saying you wouldn't have been okay with it sober, but that says a lot about a person who is willing and wanting to have sex with someone so impaired.

I understand that consent gets tricky around alcohol. But saying that drunk people make mistakes and have bad judgement is not acceptable. The fact is that she was too drunk to consent. Without knowing how drunk the man was, it's also possible that he was to drunk to consent. That's the best case scenario because it puts them on the same level. But there's the very real possibility that the OP is describing a sex crime here.

#10, ignorance is never a defense. Not knowing that someone else is drunk does not deny the fact that you proceeded in an instance where you could not obtain consent. It is immediately at that point unconsenting sex. There is another word for that. And "drunk people often make poor decisions, as the OP very clearly did." What poor decisions do you know the OP made? Was it when she got too drunk around someone she thought she could trust? That's literally victim blaming. So tell me. What did the OP do wrong?
