Today, I finally found out that the tattoo on my lower back means "slut" in Chinese, instead of "good fortune" as I always thought it did. FML
Collection
Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Today, I found out that the phrase I got tattooed on my lower back is misspelled. FML
Today, I found out the tattoo symbolising my marriage turned out to be more permanent than the marriage itself. FML
Today, I finally got a tattoo of an alchemy symbol that I've wanted for years. I also found out later that symbol stands for urine. FML
Today, I found out that the loving nickname my Chinese mother has been calling me my entire life essentially translates to "little retard". FML
No ragrets
Today, I showed my new tattoo to my friends. It's supposed to be a deep, philosophical quote in Latin, symbolizing strength and resilience. My friend, who happens to be fluent in Latin, started laughing hysterically. Turns out, it actually says, "You are dumb." FML
Inked
Today, I got my first tattoo. It's a large broadsword which runs the length of my spine. I went home to show it off, only to learn that the hilt on my neck looks just like a penis when the rest of it is covered with my shirt. FML
Great idea
Today, I got piss drunk. Being a tattoo artist, I came to the intoxicated conclusion that I could save much more money doing my own tattoos on myself. I now have my ex-boyfriend's name permanently on my thigh. It's not even spelled right. FML
Today, I realized that the "holla" tattoo I stupidly got on my lower lip five years ago isn't fading as I expected it to, and will probably contribute to my unemployment for years to come. FML
Bad omen
Today, I was at a Chinese restaurant with my boyfriend and his family. After the meal, we all decided to open our fortune cookies and read them out loud. On mine, it said "You will change your mind many times before settling down." I didn't realize what it meant until after I'd read it to them. FML
Today, my boss asked me if I know anything about those tattoos that girl put on their lower backs. "You mean Tramp Stamps?" I responded. He looked at me with hatred in his eyes and said that his 18 year old daughter just got one. FML

Well you could make a good fortune being a ****! They don't call it a tramp stamp for no reason!

You should get "stupid" in Chinese above it. Then your life would be complete

Yea. It probably doesn't LITERALLY mean "****". But having one at all identifies you as one. YDI for getting a lower back tat in the first place.

Why would any American get a tattoo on themselves in Chinese if they can't READ Chinese?! You don't know what those little houses and tic tac toe signs say. Also, no matter what tattoo you get, it means "****" if it's on your lower back.

Never get a tattoo you can't read

It's your fault. If you're getting something that will be on your body forever you should speak the language and it should actually mean something to you personally. Not some random word in a language you don't even speak. So good job.

As a matter of fact, any tattoo on your lower back means "****", no matter what the tattoo is.
