Today, I finally found out that the tattoo on my lower back means "slut" in Chinese, instead of "good fortune" as I always thought it did. FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Today, I found out that the phrase I got tattooed on my lower back is misspelled. FML
Today, I found out the tattoo symbolising my marriage turned out to be more permanent than the marriage itself. FML
Today, I finally got a tattoo of an alchemy symbol that I've wanted for years. I also found out later that symbol stands for urine. FML
Today, I found out that the loving nickname my Chinese mother has been calling me my entire life essentially translates to "little retard". FML
No ragrets
Today, I showed my new tattoo to my friends. It's supposed to be a deep, philosophical quote in Latin, symbolizing strength and resilience. My friend, who happens to be fluent in Latin, started laughing hysterically. Turns out, it actually says, "You are dumb." FML
Inked
Today, I got my first tattoo. It's a large broadsword which runs the length of my spine. I went home to show it off, only to learn that the hilt on my neck looks just like a penis when the rest of it is covered with my shirt. FML
Great idea
Today, I got piss drunk. Being a tattoo artist, I came to the intoxicated conclusion that I could save much more money doing my own tattoos on myself. I now have my ex-boyfriend's name permanently on my thigh. It's not even spelled right. FML
Today, I realized that the "holla" tattoo I stupidly got on my lower lip five years ago isn't fading as I expected it to, and will probably contribute to my unemployment for years to come. FML
Bad omen
Today, I was at a Chinese restaurant with my boyfriend and his family. After the meal, we all decided to open our fortune cookies and read them out loud. On mine, it said "You will change your mind many times before settling down." I didn't realize what it meant until after I'd read it to them. FML
Today, my boss asked me if I know anything about those tattoos that girl put on their lower backs. "You mean Tramp Stamps?" I responded. He looked at me with hatred in his eyes and said that his 18 year old daughter just got one. FML

Well you could make a good fortune being a ****! They don't call it a tramp stamp for no reason!

You should get "stupid" in Chinese above it. Then your life would be complete

Unless you told anyone, you can still say it means good fortune besides ****.

That's what you get for getting a tattoo in a language that you don't speak/write fluently.

Almost any tattoo on your lower back means "****"

You're not Chinese, so try not to mess with Chinese things.

I don't think it's your fault because the tattoo artist could have easily showed you the good fortune tattoo and then wrote **** instead but it is called a tramp stsmp

Two butterflies around an orchid; trashy but sexy. Words or symbols? Really? Stick to pretty pictures, you dipshit. Flowers, butterflies, big ****** buck tooth beavers....having Chinese language that you don't understand on your back doesn't make you world wise, it makes you full of shit. (apologies to 'Forgetting Sarah Marshall')

Isn't that pretty much the same thing?

This is exactly why you should thoroughly research anything that you are getting permanently put on your body. Sorry to say, but YDI.
