Today, I called the suicide hotline, only to get lectured by a very condescending man. I hung up and called back, only for the other line to pick up and hang up on me immediately. FML

Today, after years of struggling with poor mental health, my depression convinced me that no one would ever care enough about me to help if I reached out. I called the local suicide hotline anyway. They didn’t answer. Twice. FML

Waste of a phone call
Today, I called the suicide hotline after two months of recurring thoughts. I got put on hold by their machine, then was on call with someone who barely spoke English, got transferred to another building, so I was put on hold again, and finally got hung up on. I was already feeling pretty worthless, so thanks guys. FML

Today, I called the crisis helpline, and because my connection was cutting in and out for a moment, they hung up on me. When I called back, it was shift change, so they hung up again. FML

Don't know, don't care
Today, I realised that if I died, no one would care. I know this because when I called my partner distressed last night, he told me he needed to sleep and hung up in less than 45 seconds, and a friend told me to call lifeline. I haven’t heard from either of them since. FML

Old lady hotline
Today, I called the Suicide hotline. I dialled the number wrong and woke some poor old lady. She thought I was her son and kept asking me, "How come you don't visit anymore?" I told her I couldn't visit because of the Covid pandemic. I lied to an elderly woman I've never met. FML

Today, I was feeling extremely depressed and worthless, so I decided to use the crisis chat. I told them I felt lonely and worthless, and had nobody to talk to. They never responded. FML

clearly a sign that you should definitely off yourself...just be sure to use a gun and that you wait until the barrel is fully in your mouth before pulling the trigger - we don't want any accidents that may result in your surviving, eh?

Say what ever you want about me but honestly I think anyone who contemplates suicide is a coward. Some one who can't take a little pain or a little suffering. ******* COWARD!! There are people all around the world that are having a worse life than you. There is a solution to every problem, and none of those solutions is death.

Whats with kids that think their life is so hard anyway. I know I'm probably gonna sound like a douche here, but I had to give up my job as a cop, which I loved, after a back injury. My wife is pregnant and we've had 2 major complications in the past which really puts us on edge, my mother had heart surgery, dad had back surgery, and my grandmother is on the verge of passing. With my bad back, I take care of just about everything around here, including cleaning up bathroom accidents from my grandmother that lead clear to her bed. If anyone should e depressed it's me, but I know things will get better and push forward. All I can say is man up... or woman up, I didn't bother to look at your gender.

you tried to call the suicide prevention line, then you are telling us about it , which means you still have energy to fight against this depression you are going through : use this energy to see a shrink , or ask for a hospitalization , you 'll get help ! i wish you all the best !
