Today, I actually resorted to checking the newspaper obituaries to see where the deceased were employed, just so I can find a job opening. FML

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
Today, after being recently laid off at work due to "cutbacks", I went job searching around town. During my drive, I cruised past my old workplace and saw a "now hiring" sign in their window. FML
Today, my elderly coworker was telling me about a long-lost friend, so I helped her use the Internet to look the friend up. We found her. Specifically, her obituary. FML
Today, I realized I wasn't getting notifications for my voicemail, so I decided to check it and found out that I had 3 job offerings that are no longer an option. FML
Today, I saw my unemployed 29-year-old son, who still lives with us, reading the work section of the newspaper and prayed that he was looking for a job. He was looking for the comics. FML
Today, I found an ad for my job at my company on an online job board. FML
Today, at work, my colleague started to look for a new job. For me. FML
Up to date
Today, while reading the paper I saw a picture of a guy I really like that I'd met online. The picture was in the obituaries. No wonder he hasn't called. FML
Today, my boss sent me some application forms to check over. After I spell-checked them and returned them, I found out they're going to be used to hire someone to replace me. FML
Today, I realized after turning in my resume to over 100 job openings over the past month, that the resume I've been submitting does not have my phone number or any other contact information besides my name. FML
Today, while reading the newspaper, I noticed that an ad had been placed for my job. I asked my boss for a week off so that I could fly home for my father's funeral. No wonder she was so cool with it. FML

That's not a terrible idea given the economy.

Wouldn't most of those people be retired already?
rallets 23
cause only old people die...
Imrussian24 2
uhm no. I know 6 younger people that have died within the past 3 months, and that's just people I know. there's a lot of things that can happen to a person RIP

I guess you've never heard of sarcasm...

And he said most, not all. Usually, those in the obituaries are old. Creative idea on the OP's part though.
Klums02 0
And considering op lives in Kansas, there would be more old people. In smaller cities and states there won't be as many young deaths compared to like Chicago where people are getting shot at and getting in a bunch of car wrecks and shizz

2 you make me miss my car :'( I get to go home in a month and drive it for a week but I miss it sooooo bad.
limblessorphan 4
Well, considering that there are even people who freak out over garden ornaments I guess the chance of people dying before retierements-age gets rather small.
limblessorphan 4
i ment before retirements-age off course. Ah well, there goes my witty comment...

sorry Obama u didn't do anything. healthcare is worse, we are still at war, and you aren't helping our economy.

by that time, they've already filled the spot.

obituaries are usually announced in the paper 2-3 days after, with information on where the funeral is held... so mist likely not.
techweed 12
Dude, that's just called being an asshole
dreamering 16
And why is that? She didn't kill them, did she?
EZ2XLR8 7
who knows... one day some kid might be looking at where you worked so they can take your spot when you die. You don't think that those spots never get replaced when someone dies. If that happened... the world would practically be shut down because of every person that has died in the past.
techweed 12
Show respect for the dead, man, it's almost as if you were waiting for them to die
PeteyPablo12308 20
It's called being recourse-full, dumbass. Would you rather be unemployed?
techweed 12
You have a point there, 44

I'm giving a thumb up just for the AC Milan profile picture. Cassano is a jackass.

OP sucks at life
Kiwi2499 11
I completely agree. That is really rude to just be going through obituaries just for job openings. I wouldn't want somebody going through my dads death just so they can take his job! How did this get so many negative votes?

good idea!
