Today, I realized after turning in my resume to over 100 job openings over the past month, that the resume I've been submitting does not have my phone number or any other contact information besides my name. FML

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
Today, I realized after sending out countless copies of my resume to companies, I failed to add my phone number on it. FML
Today, I decided to modify my resume since I've handed out over 30 of them in the past couple of weeks and I haven't gotten any calls back. As soon as I opened it on word document, I noticed that I had forgotten to include my phone number for employers to contact me. FML
Today, after handing out several résumés for several jobs, I realized that I forgot to add my phone number to them. FML
Today, I realized I sent over 2 dozen job applications with my dating profile word doc instead of my resume. FML
No one (in HR) wants to work anymore
Today, I have applied to over 50 different jobs in the last month. I have NOT received a call or email back from any of them. FML
Today, I applied for my first job. I didn't know how to write a resume, so I copied and pasted one from someone else and reworked it. I got on the bus, handed it in, and left. Then I remembered I forgot to change the contact info and date. FML
Busted
Today, I have been waiting for a call from a job I applied for. I soon got a text from my current boss, who doesn't know I'm job hunting, letting me know that the recruiter was trying to reach me. It turns out that the phone number on my resumé was wrong. FML
Today, the job search agency that I use asked me to stop sending in my resume, as no one had hired me in three years, and that the situation was unlikely to change. FML
Leave me alone
Today, after applying at over 30 businesses over the past 6 months, I have had not one single call. I later find out that I was using my old phone number on the applications, and my secondary phone was my mom's. She thought they were telemarketers. FML
Today, my parents switched phone companies, which changed the phone number. Two days ago, I dropped off over 15 job applications with my 'old' number on all of them. There is a waiting period before I can reapply anywhere. FML

This is why you have someone else check it besides yourself. You need to proof read multiple times to make sure it has all the crucial information. I don't see how you could leave that off. I hear that nobody really looks at them anyway and they should have your contact info from your application. Still, it's your own fault for not paying attention to the crucial details.

Why has it only got "that could've happened to me", that's clearly something that was your own fault

FML is trying to drive the userbase away, that's the only explanation. Every single time I see a post without the YDI button, I die a little inside. To OP: you deserve it.

I still use it as a YDI button

Was it a draft? Or did you just legitimately forget. Next time it might be handy to use a template.

it's actually a bad idea to use a template, because they are easy to recognise from resumes that didn't use templates and a lot of times employers won't even look at templated resumes

Maybe if you're aiming for a design based job (and even then some companies may not care) but it being clear to read with proper spelling, relevant information and a decent cover letter is way more important than trying to do something wacky with the format.

Yea it definitely depends on the type of job. Design jobs should have unique, aesthetic resumes. Business-oriented jobs should be basic and to the point. Academic ones should be long with a lot of publications and presentations, etc.

You completely deserve it for not double checking something as important as that

YDI so so so bad. You submitted 100 copies of this thing without proof reading it? Really? Hope you find work though...

I don't know what worse you with out contact information or mine that was mispell in the document name
Lalala579121 28
Probably typing "misspell" in the document name would be worse.

Even when I update my resumé I still double check that information and others help me out in that part.
Lalala579121 28
No, no, this is good. At least you'll know that if anyone contacts you, they really want you, since they had to go through all that trouble of finding your contact information.

I just hope "attention to detail" wasn't a listed quality ;)
