Today, at work, we had an extremely rude customer who started cussing at us, and my coworker started cussing back. I jumped on the register to quickly bring down the line, and apologized to everyone for the scene. A secret shopper was in the line and claimed that I was rude. I got written up. FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Unfair
Today, the most obnoxious customer came into my job. She surprisingly scrutinized everything I did. She even mentioned I didn’t offer our store credit card (I honestly forgot due to being overwhelmed by her rude attitude). Turns out she was a secret shopper. Apparently, I failed her little tests. I was fired. FML
Go away, lady!
Today, at work, I had a customer accuse me of taking the giftcard I had issued her for her return, after spending 15 minutes trying to fix her screwed up transaction. She began to yell, and follow me around the store. Security had to intervene and I had to be locked in an office until she left. FML
Let it out
Today, I was working when I delivered the standard "Hello, how are you?" to a customer. He took the opportunity to tell me about his deceased wife, his estranged children, and his anal tearing. After a while, I tried to help someone else, and he complained to my manager. I was written up. FML
Today, I had a formal complaint filed against me for being outrageously rude to a customer. All I did was tell a customer that she couldn't use food stamps at the movie theater. FML
Today, a customer asked a question I couldn’t answer. I asked if she would wait while I consulted someone else, but she spat in my face and stormed off. My manager saw, wrote me up for refusing to help, and gave the woman a gift card for her troubles. FML
Today, a customer at work said his table was dirty. I asked which one he was sitting at so I could clean it for him. For some bizarre reason he got pissed and called my manager over. He ended up reporting us to corporate, and my manager got written up. He's blaming me for everything. FML
Today, my assistant manager was arguing with a customer. I interjected letting the customer know that "we want everything to be copacetic." After the customer left, I received a write up for using "big words." FML
Customer relationships
Today, I assisted a customer at work. She was asking me all sorts of stupid questions and acting like an entitled, spoiled brat. When she left, since I had a mask on, I meant to mouth, "Stupid bitch" but I blurted it out loud. Everyone heard. I was fired. FML
Today, I got written up for insulting a customer last week, who then rang up to complain about my bad attitude. I was on vacation all last week. My boss doesn't believe me. FML
Today, a customer yelled at me so furiously that she sprayed my face with spittle. I had to stand there, smiling and politely explaining that I needed to see a receipt before I could give her a refund. When she finally gave up and left, my boss bitched me out for "provoking the customer". FML

That's why I always carry a little notepad and a pen when I go to a store, look around furtively and mumble into my lapel. They think I'm a secret shopper and treat me like a king.

Secret Shoppers are stupid. More than once they completely lied about me when I was at my old job. And another time a customer told my boss I was sitting down on my phone when she came in. I may have been sitting down but that was because I worked seven hours with no break and my feet were killing me, and I was never on my phone.

There are some secret shoppers who are, most certaintly, crooked. But most of them do their job correctly. I've only ever seen 3 of them. I got good reports and 2 of them got me a pay raise. Moral of the story, if you're doing your job correctly, then you have nothing to worry about. And if you come in contact with a crooked secret shopper, there ARE ways to fight it! Just always do your best! :)

When I worked in retail we always knew who the secret shoppers were and word spread through the store like wildfire. The problem with this was that we all had to stop and kiss that person's ass so that we wouldn't get written up, so we'd be in the middle of a huge sale with a line a mile long and one sales person was tied up giving the SS a guided tour of the department while we were down a person on the register. Every time an SS came into the store, we lost money because someone always had to drop actual work to deal with a pretend shopper's fake sale, while the real customers went unattended to or had to wait so long in line that they put their items down and left in disgust. The worst part was, the secret shoppers would get their asses kissed all day by everyone and still lie and say someone was rude because they thought they had to rip someone to prove they were doing their job.

do you happen to work at a Circle K? I know we have these new people called mystery shoppers and we're suppose to get on a register if lines are too long. Also just have them review the video of your coworkers altercations.
