Today, after working for over ten years at a dead-end factory line, I told my friends I was going to take some business courses and land myself a real job. All they've done since is laugh, mock me, and say that if Clinton couldn't fix the economy, I have no chance. FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Check your privilege, bucko
Today, while struggling to find a job that will accommodate my disabilities, an acquaintance ranted at me about how nobody wants to work hard, and they have to earn what they get. This chucklefuck works for his father, will inherit a multi-million dollar business, and bought his house from his aunt. FML
End student debt
Today, I'm in a US college. I could've gone into a trade or internship, but no one listened. Now, while my parents brag to their friends that their child has a degree, I'll probably be spending the rest of life in crippling debt, sleeping on the side of the road, and begging strangers for table scraps. FML
Still relevant
Today, I am jobless after graduation. Ironic, since when I started college with my education degree, I was congratulated, told of the teacher shortage in my state, and how quickly I would be able to find a job. Three years in, the economy tanks, and the state issues a teacher hiring freeze. FML
Today, I found out that my friend makes more money than I do. She's a high school dropout and working at a retail job at the mall. I went to college for four years to get my job. FML
Today, as I rung up a customer's groceries, he gave me a pitying look and said I'd have a "real job" if I'd only studied harder. FML
Square one
Today, after spending last year putting in hard work, which paid off and I got my dream job, due to my own mismanagement of stress my dream job is gone and life is back at square one. Now everyone's predictions of me being a waste of space are true and I have to reinvent my life. Starting over at 38 after already starting over at 36. I can't anymore. FML
Be happy for me
Today, I got offered an interview for a great job. My father then spent the entire dinner telling me how pointless it was, and how I should apply to the factory next door because I would spend all the extra money on gas. FML
Today, my husband told his parents that he was quitting his job so that he could focus on school. They asked him what he was going to do for money. When I told them that I'd be the one working, they took one look at me and burst into laughter. FML
Today, after several long years, a lot of debt, and two great degrees from a top university, I had to move back in with my parents, because no matter where I look, I can't find a job. FML
Overreact much?!
Today, my dad called me a "worthless human being", and told me that I'm "better off committing crimes and living life in a prison cell", all because I haven't gotten into the industry I studied for right out of college. I'm currently at a temp job doing accounting. FML

Except that when Clinton was president, the economy was at one of it's best points in the nation's history.

I say go for it anyway. Support is always great, but it seems like you have enough motivation without them.

Obama beat Clinton? Huh. I thought President Clinton spent two terms in office and was no longer allowed to run. Must be remembering wrong.

Don't let them bring you down. Go after what you want, OP. You'll have the last laugh.

Prove to them that you can get a better job than them, and when you do, go back to the factory and laugh at them, then say "look who's laughing now"

People will always laugh at your dream, until you make it true.

I understand nothing about this comments rating. This is absolute truth.

This is why I believe Clinton was probably the best president the US has ever had, if not second to FDR. I wish his wife became president instead of this guy we have now :I.

37- Please change your picture. Your comment sounded somewhat intelligent, even though I disagree rightfully, (keeping politics aside) but when I see that certain picture of you, it reminds me of someone not so intelligent. Being sincere here :D

Thank you. We had a surplus with Clinton. I'd kill to have that economy back.
