Today, after I requested a sick day, a very close co-worker texted her boyfriend that I'm a bitch for pretending to have the same rare illness that she recently suffered. She said it was unlikely, disrespectful and unfair that I didn't even look sick. I know this because she texted me instead. FML

Today, my boyfriend called work because he is sick. Then he called me four times while I was working, to complain that I was working, and then he got mad when I told him I was sick and worked a double shift two days in a row, because apparently that's "insensitive" of me. FML
Today, despite having a stomach bug, I went into work, as my boss is overseas and had warned me not to take any sick leave until she returned. After 4 hours and vomiting twice, I left. She found out and sent me an email bitching me out for coming in sick. FML
Today, I was sick, so I emailed my co-workers with a list of my hours, asking if anyone would be willing to cover them for me. I only got one hour covered, and that was during a day I don't even work. FML
Today, I dragged myself to work, suffering from a bad cold. My boss quietly told me to go home and rest, to avoid spreading it around the office. I thought it odd since he dislikes me so much, but I did as he said. He called later in the day to suspend me for leaving work early. FML
Today, I called in sick to work. My boss told me there's no excuse for sick days, because she once came in to work while suffering from pneumonia. Apparently, that's supposed to be impressive and inspiring. I don't know about you, but bad medical decisions aren't very inspirational to me. FML
Today, I came home sick. After a while I received a text message. I thought it was a sweet "How are you baby?" from my boyfriend. It wasn't. He sent: "Hey, I'm going to work now. Please do not disturb. Thank you!" FML
Today, I was feeling really sick at work. I messaged my boss whether his girlfriend, who also works there, could cover me. He then came down, shouting at me that whatever illness I have, I've also passed on to his girlfriend. I'm pregnant. FML
Today, I called into work because of a family emergency. My boss was understanding; my coworker? He tore me a new one because his wife wanted him to take the day off, which he didn't because it was going to be a tough day at work. He also threatened to find a way he could get me fired. FML
Today, I went to work despite having a nasty cold. I didn't call up sick because last week when I called in, my boss said I was being "unprofessional and unacceptable." My boss sent me home with a written warning today, claiming that coming to work sick was "unprofessional and unacceptable." FML
Today, my boss was skeptical when I told her I had a terrible migraine and needed to go home for the day early. I removed all her doubts by puking over her. FML

LOL I can't believe this, I posted this for my gf last night, I was signed out of my profile and there wasn't enough room to tell the whole story. Also, I've got like 10 awesome fml's pending connected to my profile. The sickness in question wasn't THAT rare, pretty uncommon though and only women can get it. No, her complaint was not valid, my gf really was sick with the same thing. And by close I mean like, we STILL hang out with this girl, she apologized, she's usually really sweet.

Rare does not equal impossible. I'm female, with Ehlers Danlos type 3, Autism, and even have PTSD to sexual stuff. Any time you try explaining things with all that, people don't believe you, and it leads to so many problems. Yeah, I communicate well, but some areas just don't work. My logic may be intact but that doesn't mean I can understand everything. Those aren't even all my problems but no, try to vent or explain any of this to people is like trying to tell a stranger I'm Autistic despite talking this well and not having much in the way of social issues aside from severe anger problems. People suck. Stereotypes suck. Assholes who think rare means impossible are beyond assholes for complaining about it. Oh yeah, I spent the first 6 years of my life meowing instead of talking because there's absolutely nothing wrong with my brain...
