Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Today, after my girlfriend of a year got accidentally pregnant, we were discussing it, and she only just now revealed she thinks vaccines are an evil conspiracy between hospitals and drug companies, and she’s carrying my baby. The next 18 years with this mad woman are not going to go well. FML
Today, I found out my wife is pregnant. The problem is she convinced me to get a vasectomy two years ago. FML
Today, I got the official word my wife is pregnant. Her sister, who lives with us, is also pregnant. I'm stuck in an apartment with two women due in late 2012. FML
Today, my sister-in-law announced that she’s pregnant. With my kid. And the doctor thinks it might be twins. FML
Today, I found out that my husband is the biological father of my baby sister. FML
Today, my family is supposed to be enjoying a day with my in-laws. The drawback? I have to spend time with my stepmom-in-law who is a conspiracy theorist, and my stepsister-in-law who has an unvaccinated 3 year-old who’s been sick a lot lately and looks like death. I have a 4 year-old and a newborn. FML
Today, my wife's sister called with a confession. My wife never wanted children, but I did, but I thought she'd miscarried the first two, so we stopped trying. Her sister confessed that she'd actually aborted them and lied to me. We picked out names for them and she aborted them. FML
Today, my sister announced her pregnancy at my husband's funeral. FML
Today, I got my one year-old daughter vaccinated. My wife tried to leave me, because she's "never felt more betrayed". FML
Today, I found out my wife is pregnant. She hadn't even called me; I saw the news on my Facebook news feed. FML
Feel like sharing it with the other FML users?

Tell her if garlic water and oils worked, we'd still be using it. But it doesn't, and there's a reason behind why Polio is gone now! So many people think "Well, I'm healthy and nothing's ever happened to me!". You do realize anyone around 50 or younger has most of the vaccines in them already. Life expectancy in the 1930s was about 55 years old, and most of the deaths were infants because of illnesses. I can understand maybe spacing out the vaccines on different pediatrician trips rather than, let's say, getting the 4 required at the 2 month well-visit. But to not to, she's the cause of the problem and will be the return of even more shit happening in the world. And to the (new) age old take of the autism fallacy: Autism is genetic, already wired in your brain before you're born. So even if it did cause it (which it DOESN'T) you're saying you'd rather let your child suffer and die from measles, suffer chicken pox, or spreading an illness to other children who cannot vaccinate and then OTHERS die in the future; You're as bad or worse than the morons who don't want to wear a simple mask to help others today. People are so obtuse and entirely selfish.

How do you expect him to avoid his own wife and unborn child? What OP needs to do is get his wife back on side, and remind her that vaccines will help keep their child healthy, especially in its formative years.

I agree, though natural remedies do work for small things, like sore throats or muscle pains. More treating symptoms than treating the problem (which really is all OTC medicines do anyway).

can you tell me the name of the gene that causes Autism? I have a son with ASD, been reading and searching for the past 3 years, and there was not a single scientific document mentioning this bullshit!

Mutations in gene ACTL6B
TwoBytesCarley 27
“Genetics. Several different genes appear to be involved in autism spectrum disorder. For some children, autism spectrum disorder can be associated with a genetic disorder, such as Rett syndrome or fragile X syndrome. For other children, genetic changes (mutations) may increase the risk of autism spectrum disorder. Still other genes may affect brain development or the way that brain cells communicate, or they may determine the severity of symptoms. Some genetic mutations seem to be inherited, while others occur spontaneously.” https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/autism-spectrum-disorder/symptoms-causes/syc-20352928 Took a whole two seconds to find that.

from my own personal experience of dealing with anti-vaxxers, flat earthers and religitards they are the most ignorant ,ill-informed stupid people on the planet. the only way to deal with people like this is to avoid them you can't educate them they're far too ignorant.

I was referring to the sister-in-law I guess I should have been a little more descriptive but yeah you're right he needs to win the wife back and make sure his kid gets vaccinated because the measles and the mumps suck

Show her the articles where the dr who started that nonsense was proved a liar and lost his medical license.

Wow, take the kid and get it vaccinated regardless. Anti-vac is a special kind of crazy. I have an otherwise awesome, well-educated aunt who is anti-vax for humans but helps foster puppies and won’t let them out the door for anything without their full round of shots, and a signed contract to keep them up to date. There is literally no logic to it. It has to be an evolutionary psychological bug in their brains somewhere.
wysegirl 24
while some vaccines I understand not wanting to get... a baby needs the help to survive.. good luck and hopefully your wife finds logic
Alex Gruber 5
wysegrl, so how did babies manage to survive before vaccines?
BMXDude22 12
They didn't, they died. A lot of them. My great-aunt died of TB when she was 14, could've been prevented if they'd had the vaccine back then. That's why people had loads of kids, so at least some of them would survive. It's staggering we still have to explain this in 2020.

Time to find a screensaver for her phone/computer that slideshows pictures of people who caught diseases from before vaccines existed.
bl3ur0z3 17
It only takes one parent's consent to get immunizations.

Tell her an abortion is cheaper.
thomasthedankengine 11
then don't have children that your wife will kill and while you're at it get a divorce

That is a battle no one wants to fight. I'm sorry OP. This a true FML
