They weren't wrong...

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Today, the cashier at the local grocery store in my area said that I don't look a day over 40. I'm 28. FML
Today, a customer complimented me on how good I looked for my age. She thought I was in my forties. I'm 18. FML
Today, while I was in a bathroom stall, I overheard my younger coworkers discussing my age. They said, “How old is she? Some days she looks like she's 35 and other days she looks like she's 58!” FML
Today, I was at work refreshing the shelves when a man turned the corner and said, very surprised, "You look 12!" A few weeks back, two people did the same thing, only they said I looked 9. I'm almost 21 years old, and just very short. Starting to get just a little self conscious here. FML
Today, someone tried to guess my age. They guessed 45, then 39. I'm 35 and just spent $20,000 on plastic surgery to make myself look more youthful. FML
Today, I was stopped by a customer who told me that I looked like a nice woman. I thanked him for the compliment and pointed out that I was a man. With an obviously male name on my name tag. And visible facial hair. FML
Today, I was in the store when a man started chatting me up. He was good looking and charming. He asked, “So, what are you, 22-23?” I saw him visibly recoil in disgust when I told him my real age. I’m only 35, he was about 50, but he acted like he couldn’t runaway fast enough. FML
Today, I used to look so young for my age that in high school, I was regularly mistaken for a freshman. I never succeeded in getting dates because of it. Today, I'm 25 years-old and regularly get confused for being in my thirties. I guess all the stress from work, loneliness, and rejection really caught up. FML
Today, at work, a customer commented that I look like Zach Galifianakis. I'm a girl. FML
Today, I was mistaken for an 8th grader because of my height. I'm 32 years-old. FML

Thirty-five or thirty-nine...most people really don't look much if at all different between those two ages. Now if they had said you don't look a day over FORTY-nine, then you should feel like crap.

A handful of people left during the buggy weeks following the site update. They seem to be trickling back in... let's hope it's only a matter of time!

Throughout my 30s people kept saying I'm lying about my age because I look 45. Recently passed 40 and suddenly all sorts of folks asked if the milestone was turning 30

So the person was right! 39>35, ergo you are not over 39.

I feel ya. Up until this year, people guessed I was 23 or 24, but then 33 and a particularly stressful year hit, and I totally look my age. Want to go get botox with me, OP? Jk

Ever since I was about 13, people have often assumed I was five to ten years older than I actually am. A few years ago, I took an audition class in the evening. At the first class, the instructor went around, student by student, and said what age range he thought each person could play -- Instructor: "I would cast you anywhere between 25 and 40. How old are you really?" Student 1: "I'm 32." Inst.: "So you can play a few years younger or older than your actual age. And you, I would cast you between 18 and 35. How old are you?" Student 2: "I'm 26." When he got to me, he said, "I would cast you anywhere between... oh, ... anywhere between 50 and 80. How old are you?" I responded completely honestly: "I'm 45." (IOW, he thought 50 was low-balling me by at least 5 years, if not more.) He got a little flustered, and said, "I guess it's because of your gray hair." I, being a little flustered as well, thought I would make a joke out of it and said, "Well, at least I still HAVE all my hair." Then I realized that he might not take that well, as he had a classically male-pattern-bald head.
