Today, I was told that my son has Twitter and Facebook accounts that he uses to try to bully people online, some of which are celebrities. He does it really badly, though. FML

Today, my son was on Facebook while he was supposed to be studying. He called me a liar and accused me of making up excuses to chew him out. How do I know he was online? He liked and commented on a video I posted. My son is a dumbass. FML
Today, I got an angry call from my 7-year-old son's school. It turned out that while doing a "what I want to be when I'm older" assignment, he wrote that he wants to be an internet troll so he can make people mad and make them kill themselves. FML
Today, my son tried to go viral by livestreaming himself walking down our busy street while talking to his "chat", while my other son came up and lamped him with a punch to the side of the head, pretending to be a stranger, or a "hater". I hate this streaming shit, but I never thought I'd raised clout chasing morons. FML
Today, I found out my son is getting bullied. His stepdad doesn’t care, in fact he’s all for bullying because he thinks it will force my son to stop being smart, or "a dork" as he calls him, and fit in with the normal kids for a change. FML
Today, I'm ashamed at ever having become a parent after I found out my daughter has been leading an online bullying campaign against a girl at her school who has disabilities, both mental and physical. Some of the language she was using in the online messages were just disgusting and unforgivable. FML
Today, my son, who to my great shame is a typical bully, was suspended for bullying a disabled girl. Her father must have been the biggest, meanest, most tattooed ex-marine I've ever seen. He blamed me for bad parenting, and I actually peed myself a little in fear, which he saw too. FML
Today, my idiot son has been getting his ass kicked nearly every day since he spread a rumor that he’d been sleeping with the most popular girl in school. Not only is she the wrestling coach’s daughter, her brothers are all massive jocks. Even though he apologized the beatings keep coming. FML
Today, my husband was concerned about our son using the Internet, so he told him a story about a kid who gave out his personal information and was kidnapped and killed by a maniac. Now our son is scared to use anything with a screen. FML
Today, my daughter posted a poem on Facebook about how her father and I abused her for years. It's a complete lie and an obvious attempt to impress her boyfriend, whom she thanked for "rescuing" her. I've received several hateful messages already, along with threats to report me to CPS. FML
Today, my son visited for the first time in three years, asking to stay a while. It turns out he insulted someone online and gave his address in case they wanted to fight him. They accepted the offer, and so my son's imaginary Muay Thai skills went AWOL, along with his testicles. FML

I know I'm going to get so much hate, but I don't exactly "believe" Cyberbullying is real. The people who commit suicide over something so absurd like "you're ugly" just astounds me. Cyberbullying, you can delete the hate and block the person and move on with your life. But the people today feel the need to defend themselves and self harm and to the point of suicide. The whole generation has become so involved in technology that they won't shut off the phone, close the laptop, or delete the hate and it results in suicide.

#41, while I agree with your statement about society's attachment to electronic devices, I have to disagree with what you have said about bullying. It used to happen only at school (or to and from), getting "hate mail" in lockers and such. For a person who is insecure, this is a really upsetting thing. With the invention of the Internet, the bullies were able to send emails, stock various social media sources, and generally make life a living hell NON-STOP. You block one user on your email/im/social service, they will create a new one and start again. I don't know about anyone else, but if I were harassed every waking moment I may be driven to self harm. Bullying is exactly this: harassment. Bullying is harassment used to cause physical, emotional, mental, and social harm. With the insecurities I have, I am lucky that I wasn't bullied past elementary school.
