Today, I asked my girlfriend about a diamond necklace I bought her for her birthday, which she didn't seem to be wearing. She then told me she hocked it to pay for her inexpensive phone bill. I paid $1,500 for that necklace, she received $300 from the pawn shop. FML

Today, I was shopping for rings with my fiancée. We spent over two hours selecting the perfect ring and diamond to match. When filling out the paperwork I discovered I left my wallet at home. She had to pay the 20% down payment for the ring. FML

Run. My first wife pulled something like this just before she got pregnant (on purpose). I went into the marriage with no debt and money in the back and filed a joint bankrupcy for $200,000 about two years later. It is obvious she cannot handle her business and $1500 is a small price to pay to find this out.

You've been PWND! Or you necklace has, at least. You need to marry this girl straight away! From now on, every occasion you have with her, give her a $10 bill (note) in a card and that's it. You are done giving her expensive gifts from this day forward. If you marry someone responsible, you're not going to have such a good excuse for not going broke getting them expensive gifts. In the long run, this is a cheap lesson! ;)
