Today, I'm in a relationship with a guy who yells at me everyday for things I didn't do, is in a dead-end job and is not attractive whatsoever, but I can't bring myself to break up with him because he would get to keep the dog. FML

Today, I realized I'm trapped. I might be heading into an abusive relationship that I won't be able to escape, but I can't leave because then I'd break his heart and I love him too much for that. FML
Today, my fiancé and I broke up, and he won't answer my calls or texts. I don't want him back; he has my dog. FML
Today, my boyfriend and I broke up. He now argues that he should keep the dog. We only dated for three months, and I've had the dog since I was ten. FML
Today, I'm stuck in a bad relationship with a man who won't work to get ahead in life, and whose family looks down on me for being a different race. If I dump him, I'll have to live with my racist dad, who will smuckle endlessly about how I "learned a lesson for dating outside your race." FML
Today, I went to see my boyfriend with the intention of breaking up with him. Instead I discovered that he lost his job today and has to move back in with his parents. I can't bring myself to dump someone who's already crying about his horrible day. Now I have to comfort my soon-to-be ex. FML
Today, I felt a fear that my relationship with my boyfriend isn’t going to last. There’s nothing inherently wrong, yet I find myself thinking of breaking up with him. A lot. I love him and feel like I’m already part of his family, and that's something I don’t want to let go. I don’t know what to do. FML
Today, after breaking up with my boyfriend of 2 years, I was backing out of his driveway when he came running out yelling "STOP!" I thought he wanted to make up so I kept going, until I'd run over his dog. FML
Today, I tried to break up with my boyfriend. He said no. FML
Today, my boyfriend broke up with me, right after I turned down an amazing job opportunity in another location, just so I could be with him. FML
Today, the dog my now ex-boyfriend and I own together bit me bad enough that I needed stitches on my face and my hand... he then broke up with me and saying it was all too much for him and has kept the dog... FML

Okay, you can't just GET another dog. Every dog is different and has a unique personality. Dogs become your bestfriend and someone you love. People get attatched to dogs like they get attatched to people.

46- I agree 100%. I grew up with dogs, and of course they die, and it honestly very depressing. I imagine it would be the same feeling if your dog was taken from you. I guess no one else has bonded with their pets.

2, you're a hot nerd. Dogs are really dumb actually, I have a one, they just want to mooch off of you. but owners projects their emotions and personalities onto them, so to leave them would be leave part of yourself.

I love animals, I had a dog myself... But damn, a dog is NOT a child. I promise you it's not worth it to stay in a bad relationship because you love the dog. When will you learn? When he starts beating you because the dog shit on the floor? But hey, you'll at least have the dog. Make ******* sense.

i'd have to agree. also, i mean, really... if it is your dog, then just take it with you. if he keeps it, it's technically theft. if it's his dog, then just deal with it and leave. actually, you should take the dog anyway. i did a presentation on animal cruelty recently, and a lot of studies show that those who show a tendency to be abusive towards people are also more likely to be abusive towards animals. not to make you not want to go, but leaving might make him turn his anger toward the dog. so just take it and leave. he's not worth it, and you need to find your backbone.
