Today, I was having sex with my boyfriend when my dad pulled up to pick me up from his house. My dad beeped his horn and my boyfriend opened his bedroom curtain, knocked on the window, and waved. While he was still inside of me. FML

thats a completely unreasonable request but it was also completely unreasonable for you to have sex in the same house as him so shortly after you have that talk. you really couldnt have gone ANYWHERE else?

No, it's not an unreasonable request. Contrary to popular belief, there are people out that that choose to wait until marriage to have sex. including me, mainly because of what my religion tells me about sex; doesn't make me a psycho religious nut. It's not your problem what other people do, but the OP shouldn't have made a promise she couldn't keep. Promises are made to be kept, if she couldn't keep it, she should've told her dad that, instead of going behind his back. Of course, the dad seems to also be at fault here, because children should be able to talk to their parents about sex and it seems like the OP couldn't do that.

Promise rings are dumb bullshit and it sucks that your dad was pressuring you into accepting one, but four hours? I'm not saying abstain completely, but maybe a little more caution would have been in order.

Uh, you should've just not accepted it from your father. It's your choice not his. You shouldn't have let him pressure you into committing to that if you didn't want to and weren't going to. Your fault he walked in on you, though. **** somewhere private.

Why does everyone think that dad is horribly controlling? She didn't add and she put my boyfriend in the hospital or grounded me for life... Seems like the bitch shouldn't have lied to her father. But then again, it's clear she isn't the brightest...

People need to stop being so judgmental... some people, like myself, are waiting for marriage, and I don't judge those who choose not to. It's a personal decision. The OP made a stupid choice to 1) lie to her dad and 2) to have sex in her parent's house with her parents there. However, her dad also should NOT have forced her to promise him and NOT have assumed she was going to wait. Gah, lots of dumb decisions made here...but lets remember that some people DO choose to wait...it's a personal decision.

I think the thing that bothered me about this was that the father was being really invasive in his daughter's life. Hell, it's her choice and she can face the consequences if something happens, such as an STD or pregnancy. Her father has nothing to do with her relationships.
