Parked, indefinitely
Today, my mom told me I wouldn't be able to take driver's education until at least my sixteenth birthday, because I'm, "Not ready to drive a car." Isn't that the whole point of driver's ed? FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Today, my mom scolded me for not taking driving lessons already. This comes a few days after she told me that, "Allowing teenagers to drive is just another way of thinning out the gene pool". FML
Today, I took my road test. I'd never had driver's training and my mom taught me how to drive. I failed the test so badly, and when I got home my mom admitted to having taught me how to drive completely wrong because she didn't want me to get my license as she thinks I'm too young. I'm 18. FML
Today, I got my drivers license suspended until I am 18 for driving without a license. Where was I driving to? My last day of Drivers Ed. The high school where I take Drivers Ed. classes at is across the street from my house. I gave up 3 years of driving to drive 100 feet. FML
Today, I found out that my mom has been deliberately forgetting to help me practice my driving. It's not because the insurance will go up once I pass the test, she doesn't want my 14 year-old sister to feel left behind. FML
Today, my parents still won't let me drive in the dark. I'm 30 years-old. FML
Today, I failed to get my driver's licence. My father was the instructor. FML
Today, my parents finally took me driving after months of me having my permit. I got yelled at for asking questions. I only needed to know which way they wanted me to turn on the next street after they told me to turn, but not which way. FML
Today, my mother won't let me intern at a prestigious college, working with graduate students and professors, and being paid, because she doesn't want to drive me. FML
Today, I took my driving test for the first time. The instructor stopped it after less than ten minutes, and insisted she drive back to the test centre "in the interest of public safety." FML
Today, I had to explain to my 18-year-old daughter why she can't pull a duck face pose for her driver's license. She still doesn't believe me. FML

You might be of legal age, but that doesn't necessarily mean that you as an individual are ready. 16 year old me was horrified by the way some of my friends drove, more than a few of them were not emotionally or mentally mature enough to handle driving a potential death machine. I started practicing driving when I got my learner's permit at 14, but I was 18 before I felt like I was ready to drive. Then I took driver's ed (with several people I'd graduated high school with), and got my license. Prove to your mom that you're ready for the responsibility.

Their choice and although my 17 year old doesn’t believe it, your parents do know better. Luckily he wanted to wait a bit to drive. He doesn’t drive often yet as he knows he isn’t ready. He does short drives to get more practice and sometimes says he doesn’t feel comfortable going somewhere for whatever reason (traffic, parking, etc).

Relax it’s not all it’s cracked up to be. Once you get that license everyone wants a ride. And depending on where you live you have to be 15 and 9 months at least to take drivers ed.

Pluss if you missbehave she can revoke it until you are 18!

I'm surprised at the logic of 'Murica's laws, you can drive at 16 but drink at 21. I highly doubt 16 y.o's are mature enough to drive.
