it's a big news so I understand his reaction. Kids are ******* expensive and time consuming. It's not something you want to take on without being prepared.

Well that's a normal reaction. Not everybody has a strong will. I know i'd panic at first too... Don't put too much thought into it! :) congrats if you are pregnant!

Did you take a pregnancy test before scaring the crap out of your boyfriend?

This situation sucks, OP, and you definitely don't deserve it. I cannot believe how many people are saying that you do. People can get pregnant while using birth control. No method is foolproof. As I've said before on a different FML, my fiancé was born after his Dad had a vasectomy. Those are meant to be over 99% effective. Barrier contraception and most hormonal contraception is less than that. And things like the Pill can be compromised, for example if you get sick then the Pill can stop working. If you are pregnant, good luck with whatever you choose to do. That's up to you and I hope everything goes okay for you. In regard to your boyfriend, I don't care what other comments are saying, you were right to tell him at this stage. If you are pregnant, it really helps to have that support early on. Besides, it takes two to make a baby and it isn't just your problem to bear. I'm also not going to condemn his reaction. As a person with anxiety, I throw up and panic when a scary situation occurs, and this could be a big thing. I do hope though that when he calms down, he's willing to support and help you and that you can calmly discuss your options as a couple.

Are you sure he isn't the pregnant one?

Well, where did you expect him to puke?

I hate women like this. Spend $1.00 and take a five minute test before you scare the shit out of someone, especially if you know he doesn't want children. you can be late for so many reasons, sometimes no reason at all. If its positive tell him, if its not, tell him you were late but not pregnant, and stop being irresponsible as hell and take your birth control/make him wrap it up. I know no method is 100% effective but most accidents aren't really accidents just irresponsibility.

Surely it's understandable that she wanted to tell him- she was probably as scared as he was, if not more, and wanted to confide in him. Communication and honesty are important parts of a relationship.

When it comes to contraception its not really 50/50. A woman can take birth control, plan B, hormonal implant, non hormonal implant, patches AND pair this with barrier protection. A mans only real option is barrier protection which do break/slip or complete abstinence. Then if she does get pregnant a woman can have an abortion whether or not her male partner wants her too. If a man wants an abortion and she doesnt, too damn bad for him. Even in adoption women have it easier she can sign over her parental rights rather easily but if a man wants to do so its not really possible unless the mother doesnt contest for child support reasons. Im never really sure why women expect mens first reaction about unplanned pregnancies to be happiness rather than fear.
