No fun
Today, I was helping my mom pack for our family vacation. We were both talking about how excited we were, when she turned to me and said, "Would you be offended if I asked you not to come? It's just… I want to have fun." FML

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Today, I was asking my husband to help me finalize plans for our upcoming vacation. He, however, would rather pout and sulk because I don’t want him to bring his mom along. She’s been with us on our last few trips and it’s hard to get any alone time. I’m considering just going alone at this point. FML
Today, my mother told me that I could take a friend on vacation with us. Then she added that because I have no friends, my brother can bring his girlfriend instead. FML
Today, my mom told me my aunt was coming over. I told her I might have to work, and would be sad to miss her. My mom said, "Or, you know, if you're not there, it might be nice." FML
Today, my parents asked me if I was sure I didn't want to join them on a family trip tomorrow with my sister. I was never invited, and unlike the rest of the family, I have a full-time job where I can't just take days off with no warning. This is how they announce most "family trips" to me. FML
Today, while planning for our trip next spring, my friend told me that she's decided that her mom is coming with us. It’s non-negotiable. FML
Today, my mom booked a family trip to Sweden. This would be great, if she hadn't asked me to tell our former German exchange student that we were coming to visit her in Germany. She was thrilled. Now I have to be the one to let her down. FML
Today, my sister and I were planning a trip to get away from things and visit some faraway friends. My dad then decided to insert himself into our plans. He got mad when we said no, and couldn't understand why we wanted to go by ourselves. FML
Today, I asked my fiancee to drive me to the airport for a business trip in a few days. She ranted angrily that she already had plans, so I asked my mom to take me instead. Now she's pissed and saying, "Why don't you just go marry your mommy, since she does everything for you?" FML
Today, my mom asked if she could use my red dress for her two-week trip to the Caribbean. I said no, because I was going to a party and I wanted to wear it. She called me a selfish, greedy bitch who would stay single forever. I paid for her plane ticket, her hotel fees, and her cruise ship fee. FML
Today, my mother was talking about a holiday she went on this time last year. She turned to me to say, "You would've loved it, it's a shame you couldn't come". I was there. It was just the two of us on holiday together. FML

this. if she says you're no fun, prove her wrong. she can't get mad this way. it's win-win.

Maybe the OP's mom meant "fun" by having sex with some guy she meets on the vacation. She probably thought if the daughter came, she would tell her her dad what her mom was doing. We'll never know..

That's true. That's how I saw this FML. She wants to drink, have fun, and not have to drag around a teenager. Its not that your not fun, its that you can't have the same kind of fun with a kid. So not FYL more like, just wait till your older?

Yes you can...every single time I went on a real vacation with my parents I hardly spent ANY time with them. I was 14 and 16 the both times we went to Greece and Turkey, they hung out at the pool I spent most of the time at the beach. The only time we really saw each other was at night in the room or for breakfast and dinner. What they did the rest of the day? I never knew and will never know. All I know is they had fun with whatever they did and I had fun with all the games at the beach.

I hope you either: still go on vacation and never leave your mother's side just to piss her off / don't go and have a million house parties (again, just to piss her off) / go and have a RAWKIN' time! Your choice

Seems a little unlikely for a mother to say that, unless she was joking....but that sucks :/

Tell your mother you're fine with not going on vacation with her, but in exchange she must pay for an all-inclusive vacation for you at a fine resort.

You should so go and throw a wild party every night and not invite her.

I'm thinking she meant fun as in dirty tango with your dad. Unless you have siblings, in which case ... biiitch

i feel like what this person's mom said had something more like "Would you be offended if I asked you not to come? It's just... I want to have fun......with your dad." Or something like that.
