Today, I ran into my ex-girlfriend's grandparents at church. After 5 minutes of catching up, my ex's frail grandmother asked me when I'm planning on "joining the family". I had to explain to them that their granddaughter had dumped me exactly 2 years before. She cried. FML

Ahh, that sucks! :( You should have just told him lol...he wouldn't be mad. But it's not as bad as when my grandfather (of blessed memory) had dementia and asked me and my cousin where his brother was. His brother was shot and killed many years ago when the two of them were exiting the hardware store they co-owned. He died in front of my grandfather. And the thief was after whatever he'd had in his bag, which turned out to just be gym clothes. He was never caught. Little 13-year-old me had to explain all that to him...and watch his face fall as he tried to remember it. It wasn't fun :(.

It's good yu didn't say nothing.. Because first of all, you get to remember only the good memories thanks to him.. Second, it might get him upset to hear that yu guys aren't together..

Old people are like that. My grandpa keeps asking me how's my girlfriend- I've never had an official gf before. My grandma keeps asking me how fraternity life is... I quit because the frat that "doesn't tolerate hazing in any way" hazed me and then accused me of telling the school. I did no such thing. Apparently old people can't remember much in the recent days.

I know how that feels. An old friend of the family I have been visiting a lot this year has a really bad memory. Sometimes its just easier to let her go on and have the same convo we've had before than to correct her. Half the time she thinks I just got back from nova scotia, a two week trip I took 3-4 months ago. Shes 97, she has a right -shrug-
