Today, my live-in mother-in-law brazenly swiped most of the money from my wallet, then walked out of the room as if nothing had happened. The worst thing is that my wife believes anything she says, so I can't do a damn thing about it. FML

A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Today, I witnessed my mother-in-law reach into my wife's purse and practically empty it out into her pocket. When I confronted her and called my wife into the room, both of them accused me of lying through my teeth, because I've always hated her. FML
Today, I came home after a long day at work to find the furniture in my living room had been rearranged by my mother-in-law. When asked how she got in, she told us she stole my husband's key and made herself a copy. She can now come here whenever she wants, unless I change the locks. FML
Today, I slipped money into my mother's purse after she refused to let me pay for lunch. She caught me in the act and thought I was stealing money from her instead. FML
Today, I found out my mother-in-law sold a precious family heirloom and gambled away the money. FML
Today, I came home to my mother-in-law wearing the gold chain which I usually keep in a hidden drawer. I searched my drawer only to find out my chain was missing. I asked my mother-in-law if she took it and she keeps denying the fact that she stole it from me. My husband is on her side. FML
Today, I got home from work to I find my cash box open and empty. My mom walked up and said, "If you have a lock that easy to pick, you don't deserve the money." There was 650 dollars in there. She refuses to give it back. FML
Today, I met my biological mother for the first time. She stole my wallet. FML
Today, I was talking to my mom about my issues with my girlfriend. While she was sympathizing, she slowly picked up my wallet, took $100 and left. FML
Today, my wife says she's not hiding money from me but I checked our joint bank account, which I no longer use, and find she's been transferring money in-and-out of 3 accounts, while taking money from me and getting payday loans to cover it. FML
Today, I caught my sister taking money from my wallet. When I confronted her, she claimed that she was actually putting back money that she had stolen earlier. She doesn't understand the irony. FML

My husband and I are lucky in that we both love each other's family, but I still wouldn't want either of our mothers living with us. That's just asking for trouble. I think I'd consider the cow's blood covered death match first.

It was his money to begin with. He wouldn't be stealing from her l, but rather taking back what's his. I wouldn't let her get away with it, and it isn't right for his wife to believe her over him like that.

I think 8 means the husband is whipped because he "allowed" his in law to live with them. its good having the extended family live under one roof when everyone gets along, sucks big time when with people like op inlaw.

Yes, this. Seriously OP. You need find some family counseling. Check in your area for some low cost options if money is an issue. There's a lot out there if you look for it. This situation sounds toxic and could end your marriage.

Live in mother in laws. The #1 leading cause of divorce... ever. Seriously happy marriages get turned into war zones because of mother in laws. Either cut your losses and run or get counseling.
