Today, I realized that since I was in elementary school, my friends, my workmates, and even my family, all call me accidentally by someone else's name instead of my actual name. I'm 30 years-old. FML
Today, I sent my resume to a place where I hoped to work at. Since the job requires me to be doing work on the run, I put on it that I have a laptop. The only problem is that I always thought it was "labtop." I didn't learn the correct spelling until my daughter called me an idiot, she's 6. FML
Today, I found out that I've been using a "Trick Scale" that my family bought to boost my self esteem so I'd think I was losing weight. I found this out at my physical, where I learned I have actually gained ten pounds. FML
Today, I found out that I've been pronouncing "quinoa" wrong for years. FML
Today, I was mistaken for an 8th grader because of my height. I'm 32 years-old. FML
Today, I learned that I've been saying a word wrong my whole life and all my friends have been too polite to correct me, when I found out that "Segue" and "Segway" are pronounced the same. FML
Today, stepping on a scale for the first time in years, I had to lift up my stomach to see the number. FML

I'm surprised that a parent, friend or teacher never corrected you. now you need to question what else you thought you knew.

WOW - even I knew this and I grew up with (and still use) the metric system. I have to wonder why nobody has ever corrected you on this before.

Well, on one hand YDI for being a bit lacking in knowledge. On the other, I guess FYI because I don't know why in your 21 years of living, no one has corrected you. Wow. Unless people have and you just didn't listen. Then in that case, YDI for not listening.

Possibly their weight in Labradors, i.e "I weigh 10 Labradors!" Metric is much easier to understand.
