Today, I learned that because of my new medication, I can either avoid getting malaria, or have a male yeast infection. I'm stuck in Africa for the next two months, and have to sit down to pee because I don't want to irritate my penis by touching it. FML

Today, I went to a hospital in Uganda, where I'm working with an NGO for the summer. I had a high fever and other symptoms of malaria. They gave me a test, and I don't have malaria. I'm now however sick from the water they gave me to wash down a medication to reduce fever. FML
Today, I've been having persistent fungal infections and was getting treated by a male gynecologist. I had to go in to give vaginal swab tests. I washed and cleaned before I left, but when I got on the doctor's table I already had so much discharge. The doctor asked, "Is it the medicine?" I had to say no. FML
Today, I'm recovering from a urinary tract infection. The infection made me have to pee constantly. Now the antibiotics I'm taking for it are giving me the shits instead. FML
Today, I found out I have a yeast infection, a bladder infection, and a urinary tract infection all at the same time. Oh, and I also have the flu. FML
Today, I learned I don't have a yeast infection. I have herpes. FML
Today, after coming back from a trip to Africa where I got malaria, I went to the hospital for some blood tests. The doctor said, "Good news! You never had malaria! But they put you through a lot of dangerous treatments and now your liver has an anomaly." FML
Today, I finally went to the doctor for a condition I've had all my life. Turns out it was easily cured with a simple pill. I peed in my pants everyday for 27 years for nothing. FML
Today, I'm at home, sick with walking pneumonia and a raging UTI. Every time I cough, I piss myself. I'm now having to lie on a bath towel and garbage bags until the meds kick in. FML
Today, I have a UTI that spread to my kidneys, a yeast infection, and a herpes outbreak. Oh, and my period came this morning. FML
Today, I was diagnosed with a kidney infection; the symptoms include nausea and having to pee every five minutes. I had to walk six miles in the pouring rain to pick up the medication, peed in the woods twice, got honked at while throwing up on the road, and my boyfriend told me not to complain. FML

I think what he's trying to say is that the medication is to ward off malaria, but has the side effect of potential male yeast infection. A potential which has apparently been reached. FYL

OP - I might have just read this wrong, but I think you meant get malaria or prevent it and have a yeast infection. Bc you said either prevent malaria or get a yeast infection, and I wouldn't have to think for very long between a good choice and a horrible one.

Lady alathia - the guy said he was in Africa, and for the most part African countries are third world countries, and it's not hard to see that this is what the guy intends you to assume. Meaning they don't sell monistat there. Dumb ****.

I suspect what he's trying to say is that he can't take the medicine for the yeast infection and take his anti-malaria pills, as the two conflict in some way. I doubt the anti-malarials are causing his yeast infection.

Dude, go off the malaria meds and just drink a lot of gin and tonics. Quinine will treat any malaria you get and you also get to have gin:P Seriously, that sucks Don't try my suggestion, the amount of quinine in modern tonic is completely ineffective but you could probably find a better malaria medication.
