Today, my boyfriend logged onto his old Skype account from 2012 to nostalgically look back at some old gaming chats. He started bawling when he came across his now-deceased online friend’s profile and reminisced about the good times. The whole chat consisted of the ‘N word’ sent back and forth. FML

Today, my long-distance boyfriend wanted to spend time online with me. He kept quiet on Skype and went on a hundred different stupid websites, laughing by himself. Afterwards, he told me he really enjoyed our time together. FML
Today, my dad started Skype-ing with his long-distance friend. They’re both almost 90, barely have their hearing, and can't stop shouting. FML
Today, I made a friend on an online chat. We got along fairly well and even traded Facebook accounts. I found out that the two of us had a lot of very surprising things in common. We were the same age, we were from the same school, and we even had the same boyfriend. FML
Today, while creeping on my boyfriend's ex-wife’s Facebook, I found out that he used to call her the same nicknames he now calls me. FML
Today, during a social media dive on my new boyfriend, I found out his username on an old forum was "Hitlerdidnothingwrong69." I confronted him, and all he said was, "It was a different time, that was funny then." FML
Today, I was telling my friend how lonely I am on Skype. He responded by deleting me as a friend. FML
Today, I was on Skype with the guy I like. After a while of being on Facebook I forgot I was on webcam to him and started picking my nose. He ended the call. FML
Today, I was in bed with my girlfriend and she asked to see my phone to check my Snapchat to see what was in there. After she was done with it, she start looking into her phone to see her memories and started crying over her ex-boyfriend. FML
Today, and for the last few weeks, I'd let the nagging feeling that my boyfriend was up to something go. It's also the day I found his messages to other girls on Xbox Live of all things. On a profile that we both share. FML
Today, my two year-old opened one of my boyfriend's Snapchat messages. It was from a girl I've never heard of, with whom he has a 700+ day streak and is one of his top friends. The message said, "I wish?" FML

I wouldn't care. It's a "dumb" chat between friends, nothing more. Let the kids have their fun. There are many other things you can be offended at.

1. Is he Black? 2. It was 11 years ago so he may have matured since then 3. He has every right to grieve because those memories mean something to him

He probably wasn't really looking at the chat itself, more thinking of the good memories he had with his friend outside of it? He probably (hopefully) matured a lot since then, so as long as no one else who could be hurt by it sees that chat it's probably okay

in 2012 being offensive in "closed door" situations like this made lots of people giggle like children... it still does but the "behind closed doors" matters a lot less to the people who find out about it. your BF had a great time playing games and being a dumbass with his bud. wasn't hurtin anybody and wasn't being a shitty person, just childish humor that wasn't about or meant for you. let him grieve and forget their chat history, bringing it up won't do anybody any good.
