Today, I found out that I have been declared dead by my credit card company in England because I haven't used it since I moved to Thailand last year. I will need three witnesses to convince them that I'm actually alive. FML

Today, I went online to check my credit report. My credit report says that I'm deceased, and have no rating. I'm at least 90% sure that this is not true. FML
Today, my credit card information was stolen and the account locked. I'll get a new card in 10-14 days, after a planned medical trip for an increase in seizures. Without a credit card, I can no longer check into the hotel, nor access cash before my flight. The next opening is in 3 months. If I die I'm haunting you. FML
Today, I found out I was dead. Yes, you read it right! Apparently, the pickpocket who stole my wallet two days ago was murdered and since his face was quite unrecognizable, they "identified" him with my ID from my wallet. My mom, who heard this on the news, got hysterical and started trashing my room in "grief." FML
Today, I canceled my ATM card, because it had been lost. Then I found it. Then I found out I can't reactivate it, because I asked for a replacement card. I'm from CA, and I'm in Mexico with only 20 bucks. FML
Today, I found out that my boyfriend paid a guy to tell me he was dead. FML
Today, I got another in a year-long string of threatening letters about my late mother's credit card bill. I've called the credit company repeatedly to settle the account, but they won't talk to me because I'm not authorized to access it. Hope they have a Ouija board. FML
Today, after sending in my passport application for a trip to Paris, I got a letter from the state department saying despite them having my original birth certificate, I don't exist. Upon calling them, I was told that it only proves I'm a citizen, not that I exist. I pay taxes and have a mortgage. FML
Today, I was conned out of £50,000 by my own father, who everyone thought had been dead for 3 years. FML
Today, my girlfriend received a scam email about her great uncle dying and leaving her money. She not only believed it, but she also used my credit card details for it. FML
Today, I hid my credit card from myself so I wouldn't use it. Now I can't find it. FML

Similar thing happened to my grandfather, he found his own obituary in the newspaper. His response was to walk half a mile to our house through the cow pasture, since apparently this was too good to be told over the phone, and walk up in our yard waving his cane and yelling "somebody's jumped the gun! Ain't dead yet!".

Im sure the company wouldnt simply remove the card. There could be charges, things unknown. Obviously if he puts this on fml the credit card is important to him.

I haven't used my debit card since I moved to Australia in July. I am, however, returning to the US in March and intend to use it again. Maybe OP intends to return to her home country at some point and use her card.

Ever use a credit card? Thats not how it works. If there is a running balance then great! You're dead so I suppose they won't be expecting their funds back. (Yes I realize it wouldn't work like that but it would be sweet if it did)

I do have a credit card. And there's an account attached to it which can hold money. Credit cards can be used as cash cards, you don't have to overcheck.

they actually can declare you dead if your account is inactive, and the fact that they moved and the company probably tried reaching them at their old place of residence and they weren't there and they probably didn't tell the company that they moved...it is possible
