Good start
Today, my husband and I went to our first counseling sessions, where the main focus was communication. When the therapist called us in together to discuss techniques we could use at home, my husband looked around, rolled his eyes, and responded with, "Uh huh" to every question. FML

Looks like your husband is not really interested in making your marriage work. Would you rather have an asshole husband or leave his ass and move onto someone that makes you happy. You have two choice OP good luck!

At least he didn't say "nuh uh" to any of the questions -- you gotta give the guy credit for his positive attitude.

I can't stop reading therapist as "the rapist."

You need to get laid. You're not the first person here who has this problem, but you are the first where it is legal to suggest the cure. Creeping profiles can prevent crime.

Perhaps they've/She already tried that. It's not called communication when only one person is doing that. If he's not willing to even make the attempt, then she needs to give him the "heave-ho".

Not to put all the blame on the therapist, obviously, but maybe he should try some new techniques to get the husband on board.

I agree 31, some therapists just don't know how to talk to the husband. Unlike the one my parents went to (when i was little, who knew what to say/ask) my father was an abusive prick who claimed the therapist blamed him for everything wrong in the marriage & took my moms side on everything...truth was told by all 6 kids & 1 wife....HE WAS to blame for her wanting to leave & remove us from his physical/mental/&emotional abuse (which finally happened 2-3 yrs later)...now 26 yrs later he STILL thinks he did nothing wrong & can't quite seem to figure out why most of us don't speak to him any more....I haven't for 5 yrs. now, it's been about 10 for my younger brother.
