Get Back
Today, I learned a valuable lesson, never leave your "Let It Be" album, which you paid $489 for on eBay out on your desk. My brother also learned something, old records make for very breakable, one use frisbees. FML

Collection
Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Today, I came home from work to find my kids playing Frisbee with my collection of rare, valuable vinyl records. The term "smash hit record" took on a whole new meaning. FML
Today, my little brother watched an old video of The Who, who are know for smashing up their guitars and such. He decided it would be cool to try it with mine. That guitar was worth over $3000. FML
Today, I accidentally left some music playing on my iPad, then left to do some errands. When I came back, I found it smashed into a million pieces. Apparently, grandpa couldn't find any other way to "shut off that goddamn music." FML
Today, the framed memorabilia that I spent $195 on last week came crashing to the floor. It was on my wall for less than 2 hours. The picture is torn and the glass is shattered, but at least the frame is alright. FML
Today, it's my birthday and I received a signed vintage Beatles' album from my wife. Awesome right? It's the same album some jerk way over-bidded me for on eBay. That jerk was my wife, using my credit card. FML
Today, I asked my father if I could have my grandfather's old vinyls, record player, and vintage tube radio. He told me he threw those out years ago because, "Who listens to that crap anymore, now that we have mp3s?" FML
Today, my brother inherited a book from our grandmother that, in his ignorance, he donated to a charity shop because he’s “not a big reader”. I raced to buy it back, but someone had already bought it. The book in question: a mint condition, 1954 first edition Lord of the Rings, valued at £5000. FML
Today, I finally had enough to buy my dream guitar, made in 1965. I buckled it into the passenger seat because it unfortunately didn't come with the original case. Once home, I tripped over my own feet before reaching my front door and scratched it on the concrete. It wasn't in mint condition when I bought it, but now it looks like it had a bad relic job. FML
Today, I lent a pair of expensive headphones to a "friend" for the weekend. As a thank-you, he bought me a soda. He moved this weekend, taking the headphones with him. I lost a $250 pair of headphones for a $1 soda. FML
Today, two days after getting a fanny pack so I could more easily store my stuff when I'm out and about, I accidentally broke it without even trying. Don't be cheap. FML
Feel like sharing it with the other FML users?
Thanks, your FML was submitted, and will appear in the moderation queue soon!

Harry Potter is a series of seven fantasy novels written by British author J. K. Rowling. The books chronicle the adventures of the adolescent wizard Harry Potter, together with Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger, his friends from the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. The central story arc concerns Harry's struggle against the evil wizard Lord Voldemort, who killed Harry's parents in his quest to conquer the wizarding world and subjugate non-magical (Muggle) people to his rule. Several successful derivative films, video games and other themed merchandise have been based upon the series. Since the 1997 release of the first novel Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, which was retitled Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone in the United States, the books have gained immense popularity, critical acclaim and commercial success worldwide.[1] As of June 2008, the book series has sold more than 400 million copies and has been translated into 67 languages,[2][3] and the last four books have consecutively set records as the fastest-selling books in history. English-language versions of the books are published by Bloomsbury in the United Kingdom, Scholastic Press in the United States, Allen & Unwin in Australia, and Raincoast Books in Canada. Thus far, the first six books have been made into a series of motion pictures by Warner Bros., with the sixth, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, released on 15 July 2009.[4] The series also originated much tie-in merchandise, making the Harry Potter brand worth £15 billion.[5]

I miss the internet before dumb children decided that trolling is considered cool.
redbluegreen 41
Agreed.

But, honestly, some trolls are funny, and life would be a lot more boring without them, although they are annoying, they make a compromising section of society. Back to topic, keep all valuable objects LOCKED in a safe place which only you have access to.

#49- there is only a sprinkling of troll-posts that have made me laugh. Most are just incredibly repetitive and dull, and all the retards with broken troll detectors react to them in the usual same old way. Trolling is boring.

YDI for buying overpriced pieces of shit, go hang yourself you dumbass
Bud_fml 16
...speaking of trolls... But yah, only a handful of trolls have succeeded in making me laugh Most just make me go "O_o wtf was the point of that?"

Does Wayne Bradey have to choke a bitch?

Why would you pay $489 for Let it Be? I got it for five bucks. You sort of deserve it.
dwights 0
cuz it probably was an original record.maybe autographed... i dunno
kingston52 0
that is what i was gonna ask an original new copy is still pretty cheap, and autographed it would be worth over a thousand

T Or maybe he's obsessed with The Beatles! I kind of am and if I had the money to spend it on stuff like that and it wouldn't hurt my wallet I would do it!!

It's probably vinyl and probably an original analog print, so it's not crappy digital like all the reprints are. To add to the value, sealed, mint condition, etc. You can pay however much you want for vinyl
SweetPsycho 13
..... Okay then
nodbor 11
Why would you pay that much for that record even if it is a very first print?
JoPaGeRi 0
Because you have NO idea who The Beatles are, the legacy they had, or their overall impact on music and culture.
survivalism 0
Yeah, it's the band's legacy that makes you overpay for their album by about $480.
anniebananie 3
It's called a collectible item, dipshit.
nodbor 11
you want to make a bet on that? I have the 1st print of the Record. I'm getting the mono CD box set in September, only 10,000 printed. I have been a fan of the Beatles & buying their products for over 40 years. So my question still stands, as others have asked the same question. We just want to know why the OP paid so much for the record. It is not something to take personally. We're not insulting the music. We are just trying to learn something new. My over all favorite LP is "The Beatles." Know to most as, "The White Album."

Damn, you guys just got burned lol. You are awesome guy above me :D

I'm pretty obsessed with The Beatles! I have cups, mugs, shirts, blankets, towels, posters, all the CDs, books, journals, necklaces, movies, ect.! I know they're birthdays and back ground stories and pretty much everything! I have seen Pual McCartney in concert when I was 7!

Looking up the going rate for Let It Be, original pressing of the 1970 vinyl, in VG/NM condition -- $28. There's no way a sealed one is going for more than $50 - which, incidentally, is what an original pressing of "The Beatles" aka "White" album in VG/NM sells for. The Beatles fest in NJ/Chicago every year probably has dealers selling them by the dozen.

aww i'm so sorry you really need to get revenge, this worked with my brother a few times a week, sneak in his room and pour hot water over his bed and he'll think he still wets it. i saw a packet of those incontinence nappies in my brothers room the other day.

Ouch! FYL indeed! I hope he reimburses you...

YDI. Shit like this should never be in reach of any young sibling. I bought a vinyl from my favorite band years ago and hid it in the most secretive and hard-to-reach place in my room so no one would screw with it. It was a special DJ-only record, so not many exist, especially not in perfect condition. I have it in a safe now.
hahaha6 0
yes, because when you buy something valuable to enjoy, the ONLY place it should be kept is locked/hidden away.....
