Today, I found out that my over-controlling parents would be moving in next door. I'm almost 23, and moved 5,365 km away to get away from them. FML

Today, marks the third time this month my parents came to visit. I moved 5 hours away to get away from them. FML
Today, at 30 years-old, I can finally move out. I could have chosen an apartment close to work, but instead I decided to stay close to where my mother lives. Since I told her, she's been complaining that I'm selfish and I'm creating a lot of problems for her by moving so far away. I'll be living half a block from her. FML
Today, I overheard my parents planning on how to get me to move out of the house. It's my house. They only came to visit and forgot to leave. FML
Today, I discovered that my new landlords must meet and approve guests of mine before they come over, and guests are not allowed when they aren't home or past 11pm. I'm 25 years old and just moved out of my parents' home to get away from my controlling mother. FML
Today, I moved out of my parents' house and started living alone. All of a sudden, my parents started requiring me to text or call them every 5 minutes to tell them where I am and what I'm doing, from 6am to 12am every day. If I don't, they will go looking for me, and force me to move back in with them. FML
Today, after telling my parents just exactly what I thought of them and that I was moving out, the person I was supposed to move in with called to say they'd decided they would rather live alone. FML
Today, I found out my parents' New Year's resolution is to get me to move out. FML
Today, I found out that the day I moved out of my parents' house, they invited my whole family over and had a party to celebrate the fact that I was gone. FML
Today, I bumped into my parents at the mall. They didn't tell me they were around. I live 5,000 miles away, in a different country from them. FML
Today, I found out about my parent's divorce over Facebook from my sister who lives 8 hours away in another province. They made the decision 3 weeks ago. I live with my parents. FML

Or OP can just not do what they tell her. They've got no right to make her do anything, but I see how annoying it would be to have them bug her about it even though she won't obey them. OP I feel bad for you. If you can't peacefully coexist and they don't let you do your own thing, just do what the other commenters said and run.

it may only work as far as non-direct contact in this case....what's the judge going to do? forbid the parents from yelling next door or force the parents to move? I doubt it.

38- OP said the parents were moving. I believe # 6 means for OP to tell them a different address in hopes they'll go there instead. OP would still have to move, though. I'm sure the parents would figure it out and come looking...

10, I moved 4,000 miles away and my parents have never attempted to move to be near me, even though they once lived in my city that I've been calling home for so long now. Win!
