Today, I found out about my parent's divorce over Facebook from my sister who lives 8 hours away in another province. They made the decision 3 weeks ago. I live with my parents. FML

Today, I found out that my mom and dad got a divorce. They didn't tell me, they just changed their relationship status on Facebook. FML
Today, I found out my 35 year-old brother got divorced 18 months ago when my now ex-sister-in-law told me via Facebook messenger, and asked me to tell my parents, as both of them were too scared to do it themselves. FML
Today, I found out my parents are getting divorced. They're fighting over the dog instead of my sister and me. FML
Today, I watched my mother's heart break. She found out, my siblings (20F and 18M), who've ignored her for years, have been adopted by our stepmother. She received said news the same way we found out my younger brother enlisted, and from the only place we get pics of him and my sister: her abusive ex-husband's Facebook page. FML
Today, my mother messaged me via Facebook me to say that my father had died. They knew since the start of the year but didn't bother to tell me. I live 10 minutes from the hospital he was in. FML
Today, I found out the truth about my parents’ divorce and why our family is so distant. Turns out my dad had an affair with not one, but two of my mom’s sisters. And that my youngest cousin is also my half-sister. FML
Today, my parents told me they're getting a divorce because of all the strain caused by me nearly dying in an accident. FML
Today, I bumped into my parents at the mall. They didn't tell me they were around. I live 5,000 miles away, in a different country from them. FML
Today, I found out that my over-controlling parents would be moving in next door. I'm almost 23, and moved 5,365 km away to get away from them. FML
Today, I went to visit my parents after 4 years of not seeing them. They'd moved without telling me. FML

I’m guessing lack of communication had a hand in the failure of the marriage. Just a hunch.

They did a good job covering it! Probably didn't want to have you in the mix of emotions, keeping you unaware of everything until everything was processed. Its tough. I'm sorry.

They probably figured it would be easier on you if they had everything sorted out before breaking it down to you. I don’t think they meant any harm but it does suck that you had to learn from your sister.

Maybe they weren't ready to tell you yet. I bet your sister wasn't supposed to tell the world about it on Facebook anyway.

Well I think this should be a hint as to what caused the divorce to begin with. With that being, sorry that's rough.
