Today, I found out that my over-controlling parents would be moving in next door. I'm almost 23, and moved 5,365 km away to get away from them. FML

Today, marks the third time this month my parents came to visit. I moved 5 hours away to get away from them. FML
Today, at 30 years-old, I can finally move out. I could have chosen an apartment close to work, but instead I decided to stay close to where my mother lives. Since I told her, she's been complaining that I'm selfish and I'm creating a lot of problems for her by moving so far away. I'll be living half a block from her. FML
Today, I overheard my parents planning on how to get me to move out of the house. It's my house. They only came to visit and forgot to leave. FML
Today, I discovered that my new landlords must meet and approve guests of mine before they come over, and guests are not allowed when they aren't home or past 11pm. I'm 25 years old and just moved out of my parents' home to get away from my controlling mother. FML
Today, I moved out of my parents' house and started living alone. All of a sudden, my parents started requiring me to text or call them every 5 minutes to tell them where I am and what I'm doing, from 6am to 12am every day. If I don't, they will go looking for me, and force me to move back in with them. FML
Today, after telling my parents just exactly what I thought of them and that I was moving out, the person I was supposed to move in with called to say they'd decided they would rather live alone. FML
Today, I found out my parents' New Year's resolution is to get me to move out. FML
Today, I found out that the day I moved out of my parents' house, they invited my whole family over and had a party to celebrate the fact that I was gone. FML
Today, I bumped into my parents at the mall. They didn't tell me they were around. I live 5,000 miles away, in a different country from them. FML
Today, I found out about my parent's divorce over Facebook from my sister who lives 8 hours away in another province. They made the decision 3 weeks ago. I live with my parents. FML

Invest in good locks, window blinds, and maybe in a privacy fence with a lock on the front gate. Don't ever give them your house key. Or leave them where they could sneak off with it and make themselves a copy. Maybe even a restraining order if they get too bad. I have seen some homes in my neighborhood that have a locking gate on their front porch so people cant knock on their doors and pester them.

Wow! How did they manage to move in next door? New apartment building with lots of rooms for rent? I was imagining you were living in an actual house, and they bought the home next door. But that sounds unlikely. I'm just impressed that they were lucky enough to find something for rent next door to you, from--another country it seems. Because it's half that distance to BC. Did you move to England? If so, I have to admit, I'm impressed with your parents!
