Today, I told my parents I wanted to try modelling. I thought that since I have such a low self-esteem, that it might benefit me, and make me feel better about myself and how I look. The first thing out of my dad's mouth was, "What? Why? You're ugly." Thanks dad. FML

if you have a low self-esteem, modeling is just about the worst thing to do. the industry is brutal and harsh. just like your father, apparently. but hey, he saved you some time.

Wow... I wouldn't know what to say to him. I probably would have kicked him in the balls and blamed him for my being ugly. Well, if you're really ugly at least you know not to try... And if you're not, just go for it. You might have something to throw back in your dad's face.

modeling only decreases your self esteem whether your pretty or not

modeling does not help your self esteem, trust me. getting good modeling gigs is hard and everyone always wants you to change something about your appearance

If u want to boost ur self esteem don't model! If u become a model u have to take harsh critcism which if ur self esteem is low...it's only going to get worse!

Geez. At least when you go to therapy for low self-esteem you don't have to do much digging for why it's low in the first place.

If you have low self-esteem, MODELING IS NOT THE WAY TO GO. You will get so much rejection no matter how pretty you are, and you'll always be told to change something.
