Today, I saw my cat playing with one of his many toy mice. Knowing he likes to play fetch, I picked it up and threw it across the room. Upon trying to pick it up a second time, I realized that not only was it not a toy, but it was only half-dead. FML

Today, I saw my cat playing in the other room. Fascinated, I watched him for a few minutes before I realized he was playing with one of my daughter's fish. Well, what was left of it. FML
Today, my cat attempted to make up for my insomnia with a dead mouse. I have no idea where he got it. FML
Today, my 2-year-old cat finally decided to start catching mice. Like any other cat would, she left it for me to find. I found it in the middle of the night, as my bare foot rolled its guts out of its ass. FML
Today, I woke up to my cat slowly dragging her paw across my face. I opened my eyes to see a bloody mouse dangling an inch from my face. It was still twitching. FML
Today, my cat was looking a little peaky. After craning my neck to check for lumps under his chin, he felt this was the perfect time to throw up a half-digested mouse onto my face. FML
Today, I bought my cat a catnip-filled toy that's shaped like a fish. He pounced on it, wrestled with it, and then got so scared of it for no reason that he dashed full speed into the wall. FML
Today, I received my first Valentine's day present ever: a dead mouse from my cat. FML
Today, my cat head-butted me awake as usual. I reached to pet him, but it wasn't his face I touched. It was the still-twitching corpse of the disemboweled rat he held in his jaws. FML
Today, I made my way to bed around 4am after spending all night hanging out with my family. When I got to my bed, I started to clear a spot to lay down. Almost immediately, my hand touched something furry and cold and, fearing the worst, I turned the light on. Turns out my cat left me a half eaten rodent. FML
Today, my cat came through my window, holding a dead rat in her mouth and dropped it in my pile of clothes. I then asked my dad if he could get the dead rat out of my room. After looking for an hour, he couldn't find it. Guess the rat wasn't dead after all. FML

I feel terrible when my cat plays with mice! By that time they're too far gone to let go because they'll die anyway, and they just get more hurt by being thrown up in the air by my cat. :(

We had a dog that would do that to moles when I was a kid. I didn't understand when my grandpa would kill them. Once they reach that point, its the only thing you can really do.

You would think the feet and legs would be a dead giveaway. I don't think I've ever seen a toy mouse with feet. Usually they're that weird tear-drop shape with ears and a tail.

I also can't recall the last time I stopped to make sure the mouse didn't have feet before quickly scooping it up and tossing it across the kitchen.

They actually have really realistic ones. I bought one for my cat that has a tail, little feet, red eyes and if you hit it hard enough, it squeaks. She loves it

Aren't toy mice usually bright colors, like pink & orange? Maybe make sure kitty's toys don't look too realistic so this doesn't happen again. Also, ewwwwwww.... *shudder*

My cat has colourful ones and also quite realistic ones with grey fur and everything. But I could never mistake them for real mice, they're not THAT realistic.
