Encouragement
Today, I asked my father if he was proud that I have never done drugs, never drank alcohol, never had sex, never had psychological problems, never been to the hospital for something serious, never been in a fight and maintain good grades. He told me I was a boring daughter. FML

I agree with your dad.

Not having had psychological problems and the fact that you have never been to the hospital for something serious isn't something to be proud of, but rather, is something to be grateful for. Get off your high horse, kid.

Wow. Do you also shun makeup and sell bibles?

You sound like a respectable person and yeah you should be proud. Don't worry about your crazy dad. Men say the weirdest things. My dad said something similar to me a while back and that came from the mouth of a preacher!

Psychological problems aren't chosen..do you think I chose to have depression and anxiety? No. I have it because my mother and grandmother had it.

I think that's great.

People don't chose to have psychological problems... It happens either because of your ancestors or because of events that happen around you. YDI for fishing for complements.

**** you OP! Never had psychological problems? That's like bragging because you've never had a flu or a cold strain. People like you make me ill.

Why would you ask him if he's proud of you for never having psychological problems? That's not something people can control. It's not like people choose to have them. If you've never had one then good for you, but it's not an accomplishment. He should be proud of good things you've done and good choices you made, not something that you were lucky enough not to have to deal with.
