Today, my daughter spoke her first words. Her dad had been practicing with her for weeks in secret. She crawled to me and said, "I poop." FML
Today, we've been dating for over three months, but I went over my girlfriend's house for the first time. As we walked through the door, I was greeted by a little girl whose first words to me were, "Are you my daddy?" FML
Today, as I was taking my three year-old daughter home from daycare, she asked where her daddy was. I tried to tell her that I was her father, but she answered, "No, not you! My other daddy!" I've got some talking to do tonight. FML
Today, my 6-month-old daughter decided she'd scream every time I'd answer her cries instead of her daddy. He just left for a 12-hour shift at work. Only 11 more hours to go. FML
Today, a little girl at work was coloring a picture that said "Best Dad" on it. Wanting to be nice I asked her if she was making it for her dad for father's day. She looked at me with a sad face and said, "I don't have a dad..." FML
Today, it was my daughter's birthday. I didn't know I had a daughter. FML
Today, I have been teaching my 5 year-old step-daughter how to read and write. She came bounding up to me with a piece of paper and said, "look what I did". It was a letter that said "My dad misses my real mommy, not you". FML
Today, my four-year-old daughter called me by her mom's new boyfriend's name. Three different times. FML
Today, my eldest daughter announced she was getting divorced. She never even told me she was married. FML
Today, my two year old daughter did not want to leave the toy store, when I picked her up she started screaming at the top of her lungs, "YOU'RE NOT MY DADDY!". FML

Most children will say Da-Da first. It isn't necessarily associated with Daddy. Sorry about the sperm donor, though.

Your daughter isn't knowingly saying "Daddy", she is simply stringing together sounds. Calm down, most children say "Daddy" before they say "Mommy". Its just the way the brain develops.

Dad or daddy is actually an easier word for them to say so it doesnt mean anythng.

why is it cutting my comment off?? Anyway, my 4 kids and 6 grandchildren all said daddy first! It didn't matter if he was around or not! Being in the Navy, he was often gone for up to 2 yrs. at a time!!
