Today, I found out that my fiancé's sister, who only got engaged a couple of months ago, is getting married before us. I wouldn't have a problem with this if she wasn't planning her wedding to be exactly like ours will be. FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Today, I met my sister's fiancé. I would have been happier for her if he hadn't been mine a month ago when I introduced them. FML
Today, my sister announced that she just got engaged… right as I was in the midst of giving birth to my twin daughters. The thing is, she's not actually engaged. In fact, she's single. She just couldn't stand that I was "upstaging" her and "had to think of something fast." FML
Today, I found my sister's wedding book. Inside it was a list of potential grooms; she'd written down all of my ex-boyfriends. And my fiancé. We're getting married in three weeks. FML
Today, my ex-fiancé married the woman he cheated on me with. Their wedding was an exact replica of how I had planned mine to be, decorations, colors, cake, etc. Oh, and she also copied the dress I'd said yes to. FML
Today, I overheard my mom talking on the phone with my sister about how much they hate my fiancé. My wedding is in two weeks and my family has been pretending to like my future husband for three years. FML
Today, my father told all of us that he eloped with his girlfriend of two months. I'm engaged to the woman's daughter, and have been engaged since before they met, but now my family is making fun of me for marrying my "sister". FML
Today, a week after my fiancé and I got engaged, his mother is already complaining that she isn't involved enough in the wedding arrangements. We haven't even set a date yet. FML
Today, I announced my engagement. My mother's response was to freak out and demand that I postpone my wedding indefinitely. Why? My younger sister caught the bouquet at a wedding last year, so "she has to get married first!" My sister has been single for 3 years and showers once a week. FML
Today, I logged on Facebook and saw my friend who'd been engaged, then broke the engagement, then got back together announce their new wedding date: three days before my wedding. She also sent me a message asking if I'd move my date. We've been planning our wedding for two years. She got engaged six months ago. FML
Today, I found out that my fiancé is going to be deployed on our wedding day. FML

Tell her that it's not right to be doing that. You've probably planned for a while and she just took it like that

lmao. Hope my brother doesn't read this and do the same with me

Let me guess - you've planned to wear a strapless white gown and have a signature colour set on a background of white/ivory/champagne,a candy bar, seating plan and OTT table centre pieces = every wedding I've been to in the past 10 years. Boring.

I get what you mean, but aren't weddings meant more for the happiness of the couple than the guests? I prefer weddings when they're fun too, but if I decide to go to a wedding my main objective is to witness the legal union of two of my friends, congratulate them, and celebrate/hope for their future happiness. As long as they take the time to greet/thank me and provide me the basic stuff (ie: food if it's planned during a meal time), then I don't care whether they have the traditional ivory wedding, a more rustic sugar-shack autumn wedding, or an informal dance-in-a-school-gym wedding (all of which I've been to).The importance to me is the couple's happiness, not my own. So if one of their sisters were pissing them off and stealing whatever little uniqueness and emotional significance they may have prepared, I would find that pretty crummy.

This happened to some friends of mine. They got engaged, and then her brother started dating someone and got engaged after my friends had already set their day. The brother's fiancée INSISTED on having the wedding the day before my friends, and she filched quite a few ideas, too.

Wow that is so unbelievably rude and tacky. What is wrong with some people? Don't they want something special of their own without trying to one up someone else?

Wow. What a jealous bitch. Make sure everything in your wedding is just a notch above hers... It will end up making hers look like a cheap, tacky version of yours. Get Revenge!

Troll her about your wedding plans then.

I guess that's the old adage monkey see monkey do

God. I've always wanted one but now I'm glad I don't have a sister.

Stop planning. Let her do it all and the. Steal her plans.

So what?

It's sort of a compliment in a crazy unethical way. Your wedding will me 1000x better because it's what you want, not someone else's idea.
