Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Today, I got a cross-country job promotion. I decided to plan my Going-Away-Forever party, and bought a pack of 100 invitations. After mailing them out to all my friends, I have 92 left. FML
Today, I threw a goodbye party because I'm going to live to Chile soon. Nobody came. FML
Today, my friends decided to throw a going away party because I'm moving. It would have been great if I had actually been invited. FML
Today, my coworkers threw me a going away lunch, since I’m moving on to a better opportunity. Nothing reminds you why you’re leaving like being the last person to your own party, and picking over the minuscule amount of food scraps that are left. FML
Today, I had a going-away party because I am leaving the country forever. Out of the 130 people invited, 60 were a resounding, "Yes! Of course I will come!" After paying $300 for everything needed at the party, two ended up coming. And left because nobody else was there. FML
Today, I got an invitation to the "Going away lunch" the company is throwing for me. I didn't know I was leaving. FML
Today, after working for my company for 10 years, my co-workers threw me a farewell party. The boss gave quite an eloquent speech, ending in "we're really gonna miss you Mark." My name is Evan. FML
Today, my friend had to leave work early for a funeral. As he was on his way out, I wanted to say something. All I could think of was, "Have fun!" FML
Today, I had my leaving party after work to celebrate getting a new job. 3 people turned up. I'd invited 35. FML
Today, my boss left a lovely invitation to her wedding on my desk. I plan on resigning during our meeting later today. FML

Who cares? I made my own cake for my going away party. There's people attending the party, right? Who did the rest of the work for the party? If you did everything and there are no guests, then it's a FML.
