Today, I had my leaving party after work to celebrate getting a new job. 3 people turned up. I'd invited 35. FML

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
PAR-TAY
Today, I had a going-away party because I am leaving the country forever. Out of the 130 people invited, 60 were a resounding, "Yes! Of course I will come!" After paying $300 for everything needed at the party, two ended up coming. And left because nobody else was there. FML
Today, I got a cross-country job promotion. I decided to plan my Going-Away-Forever party, and bought a pack of 100 invitations. After mailing them out to all my friends, I have 92 left. FML
Today, I got an invitation to the "Going away lunch" the company is throwing for me. I didn't know I was leaving. FML
Sir Alan Sugar has spoken
Today, I got married and I'd invited everyone from work including my boss. His way of congratulating me was to mention that I'm out of a job. He said it was a good time to do it because he thought I would be too happy or too drunk to care. FML
Today, it's my last day of work at my job of two and a half years. I organised to have coffee with my coworkers at a cafe. Only I turned up. I had my farewell coffee alone. FML
Goodbye
Today, my coworkers threw me a going away lunch, since I’m moving on to a better opportunity. Nothing reminds you why you’re leaving like being the last person to your own party, and picking over the minuscule amount of food scraps that are left. FML
Today, my friends decided to throw a going away party because I'm moving. It would have been great if I had actually been invited. FML
Today, there was a big party at my workplace. The only person that was socializing with me in any way was my co-worker's 4-year-old daughter. Before leaving, she drew smiley faces on plastic plates and napkins and gave them to me so I "will have some friends and not be all alone." FML
Many such cases
Today, I organised a birthday party for myself. There was supposed to be about 20 people coming. Not a single person showed up. FML
Today, my boss left a lovely invitation to her wedding on my desk. I plan on resigning during our meeting later today. FML

Probably not anything malicious. How late were you in planning this party? Did you give them a lot of time or did you just spring it on them? Did you ever consider that people have lives and you were just a co-worker to them? Did 35 people RSVP as they were attending or did you just assume they'd all show? Lots of unanswered questions, but not really a FML in my book. If 35 people said they were definitely going to be there, then yes, I'd say it's a FML. Since it sounds like you invited 35 people, then went ahead and got your hopes up for 35, I'd say it's more of a YDI.
