Stop talking like shakespeare... its 2009
YDI
Just because it's 2009 doesn't mean people can't use words that are very slightly above the level of everyday vocabulary. "Thus" is actually a word I hear a lot, it's not at all outdated. Perhaps your vocabulary could use just a touch more sophistication.
Shakespear???? #28 your an idiot
51 - *Shakespeare and "YOU'RE an idiot."
Pot calling the kettle black, maybe?
"Validate your account and thus become a trusted FML member"
That is the message on the validation page, the very site tou are complaning about this on uses the term "thus" showing that the term is used more often then you thought.
Also you treat Elizabethan (the language Shakespeare used) as if were compleatly foreign to english, with a bit intelligence you can easly figure out what someone means.
Sounds like you and everyone you work with are idiots.
Never Bitch about your Workplace "AT" your workplace.

agreed. YDI for violating common sense.
It sound like you are better off since you hate your boss so much :P
OP, didn't they teach you that in job 101? You wait until you leave the premises to say anything negative about the place and don't bitch about your work to your coworkers because even if your boss didn't have a camera one of them could still tell him about the conversation. While I feel sorry for you, I still have to say YDI.
^^^This.
I thought it was common knowledge that you must leave your place of work before complaining about it. Don't say anything bad about your boss or job to anyone who might know or tell your boss. Don't say anything bad about your boss or job where it might be overheard by your boss. Don't EVER complain about job-related things while on the clock and/or on the property, unless you're filing a formal complain with Human Resources. YDI. Lean job etiquette.
actually theres nothing wrong with complaining to people about your boss/job regardless of who it is so long as it is outside of work hours. they cant fire you for it, they can however make your life difficult.

I hate people that use the word "thus".
#7 - On 11/20/2009 at 10:08am by Sue21
You just used it ... Fail :D
What's wrong with "thus."
Wibble Wobble Wibble Wobble blah blah blah
If you're not going to enable your sonar chip, you should have been carrying your spy-pen. durr
YDI. Ideally, you shouldn't be talking trash about anyone. However, if you insist on backbiting, don't do it on the job.
edit: ^^ comment up there ^^ What's wrong with "thus"? Thus thus thus.. hm..
♫ Ohhh.. THUS is Us! thusthusthusthusthusthus thrusty-thus-dust. fisty-pus-gus ♫
Thus. I'm really starting to like it now :]
YDI for bitchin about your boss while you were on the job. Still blows tho. Hopefully you can find a new job soon.
What's with the hate of the words 'thus' and 'whilst?'
I mean, whilst I am typing this, my instructor is talking about some British Prime Minister, thus why I'm on FML.
See how that works?

In thine own experience, thy words of true power hath not marred the sun of impoverished opportunity and whilst the words be typed on the papyrus, thine own destruction hast been set. Thus, thy fate is sealed in thou mercy.
Amen.
ydi for talking shit on the job..
On one hand, YDI for badmouthing people, which is never nice.
On the other hand, FYL, cause who DOESN'T badmouth their boss?
If all the power is in the hands of the employer (as in this case) it's ridiculous an employer is allowed to spy on people. It makes employees little better than slaves. But hey, at least it's not socialism...
id agree with that, no way should the boss be allowed to do that.
Call a lawyer. Audio surveillance in the work place in the US is illegal.
indeed. we installed cameras at work last year and were specifically told that cameras with audio capability were illegal...
It's kind of a double-edged sword. One one hand, it SHOULD be illegal because it's pretty much spying on your employees. On the other hand, I got fucking REAMED at work the other day because my boss watched the tapes and said that I didn't acknowledge a customer for six minutes, even though I was chatting with them the whole time, which you can't tell from the video.
I almost lost my fucking job because of it, which is bullshit and incredibly absurd.
But if there would have been no video in the first place you wouldn't have been in trouble. I think it's ok to have surveillance video. In civilised countries however that video is only used when there is a theft or a robbery. Any other uses are illegal.
thats called wiretapping it is highly illegal call a lawyer
No, it's called "having a camera with audio capability".
Wiretapping is installing audio-only devices into telephone lines, telephone sets, or telegraph lines.
Still illegal, but with different charges and a different possible outcome in a lawsuit.
You can collect $100 for every day that you worked there, plus attorney and other costs.

Technology is your red-headed slut here. Cameras with sound enhanced capature device??? WTF is this world coming to? What happened to the grainy, black and white, stop motion cameras we're all used to?
retard never dis your boss or anyone in management. at work or in public ,that is a game you will lose Everytime.
As my squad says after we waste some asshole who tried to kill us first, "Shouldn't have been talking shit". YDI
For those of you whom are pissed about the word 'thus' in the story, I did not put that there. It was modified to read that. The original was just "I am currently jobless". Thank Ye
WIN!!

coming from the guy who has 'whom' in that statement, i seriously doubt it was modified at all. (:
anyhow, thus is a word. hints towards having a brain as well.
what is wrong with 'thus'? It's a word..
Hehe... NEVER badmouth someone until you are at least one mile away. And even then, be careful.
all fml grammer nazis are male transvestite eunic homosexuals.
And everyone calling himself "ladiesman" should learn how to spell "grammar" and "eunuch" and then kindly go suck his own rod. Your attempt at Abusive!Troll has failed miserably...unless you intentionally misspelled those words...in which case I accept that you've trolled me.
wtf is wrong with THUS? and op, kinda ydi and fyl cause every1 talks bad about their boss at some point and u should be discrete(sp)
I think you may be able to sue, depending on your state's laws, due to the cameras being audio-enabled. In some jurisdictions businesses are only allowed to record video. You may be able to get a hefty chunk of change, and if that's the case, I wish you the best in your lawsuit!

Stop talking in shakesphere you fail
Stop talking in stupid. You fail.
that's why smart people talk shit through email, duh.
Remember the 2 block rule... make sure whatever you're talking about is at least 2 blocks away...
Thats a rip off, you should actually sue him because its illegal to listen to recordings of people without their permission. And if someone is recording you, you have to be informed in writing.
That's why you don't talk bad about your boss at work you fucking idiot. I thought that was common sense.
People who have a problem with thus...
thusthusthusthusthusthusthusthusthusthusthusthusthusthusthusthusthusthusthusthusthusthusthusthus
...have a problem with me. :)
/word spam
Anyway, if you care enough, you can do something about that. Audio-enabled cameras are spying, especially if the boss was actively listening to your conversations (as opposed to simply going through the footage for some sort of investigation thing).
But taking action or not, this is a valuable learning experience. It may be hard to resist, but badmouthing bosses will never bring good outcomes. Vent privately when you get home (employers are getting increasingly tech savvy, so Facebook won't work either). And don't trust other employees -- they'll screw you over the first chance they get.
#28 either you're a troll or an idiot. I'm not sure which is worse.
What were you expecting? Not many managers like it to be known around the office that they suck in bed. If you had really wanted that promotion, you would have kept your mouth shut around the water cooler and open around his crotch.
In Ireland it's illegal to do that, you need to inform employees about such systems
and people saying you shouldnt bitch about your workplace when your there!? do you people actually have jobs? Cos i've never worked in any office, part time retail, professional offices, even client's offices, where poeple don't bitch bitch bitch about the place. Christ I can't think what else some people would have to talk about.
Yeah, I have a job. And I like my boss/coworkers, but sometimes I also feel like I work harder than them. I definitely have complaints. Do I make those complaints at work? No. I do what any smart worker does, and wait until I'm home. People aren't saying not to complain, just not to do it AT WORK. That's just stupid.
That just doesn't sound legal unless you work for the government.
