I work at McDonald's and when the system crashes company policy is to turn people away after getting out all preexisting orders. If we can't cash a car out, but their food was already made, we are supposed to just give it out. Maybe because my store is a franchise rather than solely part of the company it's different. But taking orders by hand isn't something that our cash registers can do.
