You OK dude?

Today, while working as a hotel guard, I found a homeless man lying in the grass. I asked him to move and he ignored me, continuing to lie there with his head resting on his arms and a big smile on his face. I got annoyed and started to yell at him. After a few minutes, I realized he was dead. FML
I agree, your life sucks 40 179

That's terrible :( Poor man, dying alone in the grass.

No, but the muscles can become stiff and "freeze in place". I can't believe it took OP ten minutes to realize he wasn't responding.

I wasn't aware dead people could smile.

Its called rigor motis. Your muscles need ATP to relax. When you die, eventually you run out of ATP and rigor motis sets in (all muscles contract). Thanks, molecular cell biology. Also, I think it's a F the homeless person's life although he is dead so I guess F his afterlife? Maybe the ghost will haunt OP for relentlessly kicking a dead homeless guy.

Essentially what I wanted to say, but I'm not scientifically inclined in the slightest haha. I fail. But I agree; f the homeless guy's life.

hehe. only benefit of taking one of the hardest classes ever- I get to rephrase what people already know in scientific terms. Also I meant yelling at, not kicking in that last sentence.

Did you kill him? How do you live with yourself?

Awww at least he died with a smile on his face. He was probably thinking about ___________!

11, haha I have my Molecular Cell Biology exam tomorrow and ironically "rigor mortis" will be on the exam. The exam is on cytoskeleton and cell motility, cell signaling/ transduction, cellular reproduction and cell malignancy. A class mate of mine was talking to me about Rigor Mortis when I read your comment. And it's not that hard. It's just a lot of detail. I actually think Molecular Genetics ( assuming you already took it since it's a pre req) is a lot more difficult.

Well it takes more muscles to frown then it does to smile.

It says a few minutes not ten minutes.

#70, I was thinking that we might actually go to the same school since I had my MCB exam today as well! It was comprehensive, just like yours but then I read you said something about Molc. Genetics and our school doesn't require Genetics (molecular based, it's just called Genetics) as a pre req for molecular cell and I am taking that next semester.

I think it would be ironic if everything were made of iron.

That was my other question... OP how did you not notice some of the other things that happen to you when you die...

You wouldn't happen to be a recently out of work dentist by any chance?

At least he went out smilin' with his boots on :]

alaaloo_fml_fml 0

Yes, but still.. all alone. At least if he had a hobo friend with him.

Maybe he did have a hobo buddy. His buddy was just smart enough to leave before the hotel security started breaking necks!

dude its a freakin homeless man.. youre an ass for tellin him to move when hes got nowhere to go.. f u OP i hope you become homeless and people kick you out of every place you go..

Yeah! You're right. What an ass for doing his job and keeping vagrants off the hotel property!

Jesus lay off he was just doing his job :P

KarinaLizeth18 5

Sorry >.> I guess I'm just venting some personal problems onto this.. but seriously homeless people have nowhere to go nowadays because everywhere they go is private property! They even get kicked out of public parks!! I just got mad at how society can be so cruel to people sometimes

I understand that you have convictions but I ask you have many homeless persons have you allowed to stay in your home? And if you live at home with your parents and cannot allow someone to stay in your house do you plan to give homeless persons a place to stay when you get your own place?

KarinaLizeth18 5

I'm not talking about private homes.. this was outside on grass.. it would be different if OP was kicking him out of his back yard but the man was in a public place

The yard of a privately owned establishment is not public. It is private also.

my girlfriend picked up three and their dog the night we moved into our first place together nice thing to do of course but kind of a fml all in it's self some first night together

It's his job to say something. He's 'security'. Homeless ppl laying in the company's grass probably ain't ok with the higher ups. Don't dis a man for taking his job seriously. Maybe he should tell every other homeless guy to chill in your yard next time :)

Nice going douchebag, you almost hurt that scooter!

I do believe that you are posting on the wrong FML. try again.

and hello I'm sure u woulda realized he wasn't breathing!!

uur pic is a dick taking I mean breath taking

mz_booty 0

lol to bad I can't say the same about urs??

lovexbox 8

Yea, dude should have been able to look and tell that dude wasn't breathing. that should've been his first thought. oh!! there's a guy laying on the grass looking up at the sky with a smile on his face!! he must be dead!! you must be blonde.

zepirothica 0

That's not true. I mistook a homeless guy for a dead body until he grabbed my arm when I poked him.
