Today, I've been without hot water for three days thanks to a frozen water line. I finally managed to thaw the frozen area, only to have the chunk of ice dislodge, slam into a bend in the pipe, and burst the line. FML

Autumn: Leaves and Laughter
When the leaves fall, the laughter rises. Discover autumn stories as crisp as dried leaves!
Same thing different taste
Soap opera
Today, the water cut out while I was showering, covered in soap and shampoo. I had to rinse with freezing cold drinking water from the fridge. As soon as I'd dried off, the water supply got restored. FML
Another fine mess
Today, the gas company came to connect our stove for free. While here, they broke our hot water heater, shut it off, and issued us a hazard notice. We can fix it, but they won't be able to come back for another two weeks to turn the gas back on. We don't have any hot water until then. FML
Today, I woke up on the coldest morning of the year to discover that the gas fireplace has run out of propane, and there is no water because the pipes are frozen. While trying to locate the frozen pipe, I forgot to let the dog out, and she peed on the carpet. FML
Today, I woke up to a fog. Literally. A pipe burst in my apartment and scalding water was everywhere. To make matters worse, when I called maintenance he told me he'd come by later, hung up on me, and turned his phone off. He did eventually show up, but it was 5 hours later, well after I'd paid a plumber $200. FML
Chili beans
Today, I woke up to find that there has been a water main break in my neighborhood and there is no running water until the break is located and fixed. I had chili with beans late last night and it is wreaking havoc with my lower gastrointestinal tract, and the toilet won't flush. FML
Today, my refrigerator defrosted itself. FML
Today, my boiler packed up on me just as the weather has turned cold, with no money to have it fixed. Hello to a week of freezing cold showers. FML
Today, I woke up to a repairman at my door who was simply supposed to turn my water back on in my apartment. Two hours and 5 repairmen later, all I have now is a large hole in my ceiling. Still no water. FML
Hang in there
Today, I found out that a water pipe at my work had burst over the weekend. There is absolutely no water in the building, including the bathrooms. It's a 9-hour day, and I took a laxative this morning before I came in. FML
Jesus saves
Today, I found out that shutting off the heat in the rental property my parents owned was a bad idea. The water froze and the pipes burst, causing the whole kitchen ceiling to fall down. The water ruined the wood floors and the appliances. I turned off the heat to save money. FML

Whenever I read that "haww", I get a very persistent image of a human with a donkey head laughing over a glass of champagne... But anyway, it totally does suck.

Damn, you were better off with the frozen pipe. Call one if those 24/7 plumbing places! Good luck OP!

Hot tub time machine to the rescue!
omgbrainZ_fml 24
A hot tub will keep the water hot inside it... I don't think he wants chlorine in his morning coffee...

A coffee maker generally doesn't need hot water to work....

I don't think #10 and #12 have seen the movie. Or all the people downvoting this...

12, guess what you need to make coffee. You'll never guess it.

It would have been smarter to defrost the pipe using a cheap blow dryer to reduce damage to the pipe.

that sucks and not something you would want to happen this time of the year.

What other time of year would your pipes freeze?
glabberfasted 16
All of the years during the ice age... Is the only answer I can think of.

24/7 plumbers are generally going to charge you through the ass though. Stick local. Most local contractors have attention to detail and care about the final product more so than massive corporations. Plus, smaller contractors are more likely to send an appropriately licensed employee.

Who would of 'thaw't that would happen?

I liked the pun (I love terrible puns) but you're probably going to get downvoted to hell for using "would of", so for future reference, it's "would have". Keep up with the puns :)

Good pun bad grammar ;p

Shit, didn't notice that! Way to kill an otherwise perfectly good comment. Sorry guys :/

I say we let it slide this time, I mean at least it wasn't shitty situation, sticky situation, icy what happened there, ransoms pussy for cat pun, or any of the other overused puns. Original, delivered nicely, one error I give it a 96/100.

You must be boiling with anger. Just keep your head cool, OP.
